What a coincedence this is the theme becuase I was just working ( NANNY) the other day and the kids were watching CAMP ROCK and I just couldn't stop thinking about how all of the characters were such bitches!

I couldn't believe it either because it's a kid movie but all the characters were aweful!

This girl was the worst, the whole time I couldn't stop thinking about how mean she was. She put everyone down, was just plain NASTY MEAN.. ruined all the plans.

A close first was the main character- She lies thru the whole movie first of all, second of all she's mean to all the "unpopulars" til of course mid movie of something...

The jonas brothers were all really stuck up because they were in "a band"...
even the "losers" were mean. All together I don't know how this was made for children. Good plot, just badly written. Should have taught a better lesson to kids, lol.

Well, although it's not the kind of typical, silly 80's action movie you'd expect from Arnold or Sly or someone else, Charlie Sheen was in Platoon.

All this is true and, I can't say I'm fussed either way. So long as the poster who chose the theme doesn't object, it shouldn't matter to anyone else. However, being in a couple of action films isn't the same as being an Action Star, IMO.

Had it been 90's action stars, then Sheen would've been a good choice.

When I think of an action 80s movie, one of the first thing that comes to mind is Top Gun 1986 so I'm going with Tom Cruise. I know most of his earlier movies are more drama or comedy, but now that he's a big action star (well, many of his movies) I found he still works!!

It's not that I can watch it over and over, but my older brother really liked this movie when it came out- and we watched it SO many times. So out of his movies this is what I'd choose as a favorite. I don't really like this theme because I don't really watch exploitation type movies.

When I considered the topic, I considered exploitation films as low budget films that tried to match up to A listers by either using a theme in which was popular that year and/or had used one A lister actor/actress in it to bring it more publicity.

I am the same way if you consider exploitation meaning like... "mature" movies. I dont really watch those either, so I just furthered my understanding of "exploitation" in which is why I chose WIND CHILL with Emily Blunt. It's low budget and the only real know actor/actress is Emily Blunt and I guarentee without her as the main charactor (or another A movie star) that the movie wouldn't have made half the money it did. :cool:

Ensemble Films with a killer cast. To qualify the flick chosen must have no less than 4 big time actor/esses and none of them should by all rights be considered the star of the piece.

It is permissable if at the time of its release the actors weren't big time, but at least 4 of them went on to bigger and better things.



For instance, Boogie Nights doesnt qualify as Mark Wahlberg is clearing the featured performer that drives the film.

I'm in that 1% of people who actually likes Kristen Stuart. Personally, I find her to have a big range in emotions acting wise. Sure she's not the most photogenic, but she is beautiful and a succussful actress. The only movie she stars in that I'm not a fan of is Snow White and the Huntsmen- and no, it has nothing to do with the affair between her and the director- I just wasnt a fan of the movie as a whole.

TUS I can choose a new movie then. But I thought panic room worked because there are a ton of scenes where we see things from the "bad guys" point of view-either when Jodi and Kristen were asleep or locked in the panic room. We see them outside planning to come in, and I felt the movie was equally split between them planning on how they'd get them out of the room and the girls in the room watching the camera ect. I mean, I guess where I went wrong though it that Jarod Letos character gets shot a third of the way into the film... but still. I will change it though.

And she is NOT a slut. Yes she cheated which is bad but why does she have to take all the heat. The man was in his 40s and married with children! He should have gotten the heat of the press, not her. She's 22, she wasn't married... yeah that's no excuse but people "dating" are only dating, it's not a forever commitment like a marriage. She was very wrong but it's not the end of the world like the media tried to make it out to be. And in no way is she a slut. A slut is someone who sleeps with everyone and if that were true, when news got out about the Snow White and the Huntsmen director, then any other people she slept with--the word would get out. Just like the Tiger Woods thing, one girl admitted to it... then a week later 50 MORE did. Now HE was a slut. So don't call her a slut. Doing that you're calling EVERY WOMAN who has slept with more than ONE guy in her life just that. And I take it offensivly.

However, the real reason that she was more caught up in it than him, is that she sells units and he doesn't, because no one knows who the **** he is, while she's in some of the biggest films (and the films that greatly appeal to the most desireable demographic. Ker-Ching!) of the last few years. Not only that, but she was part of a 'power couple', which means that they can also bring him into it.
