Rewatching films is underrated.
Did I ever say rewatching is bad?
It just came out on blu ray today, so of course I had to watch it tonight.

Ex Machina (2015)

To compare this to 2001 is ludicrous (cue snide remark from HK) but it was still quite impressive and had a tense atmosphere throughout. Enjoyed it.

I've not seen Ex Machina.... But I have no trouble believing that it's not as boring as 2001.

You know I don't like to disappoint my friends.

Straight Outta Compton:

Great movie to be honest, it get's even better if you are a fan. I knew a lot of this but only in stories ofc, watching it happen is something totally different. Acting was very good, a lot better than what I thought. Dialog is good, gets a little bit weaker near the end, but nothing major. Story is strongest during middle of the movie, parts during and little bit after tour. It's just well made movie even if you don't listen to their music. I enjoyed it a lot.

Verdict: 8.5/10

Exam:

This movie has wonderful beginning, full of mystery, drama, thriller, decant acting and pace...But it falls apart really fast, drama becomes so freaking bad, its like those tv shows, where a girl is actually her own mother while her brother is actually her grandfather who died as her son... Yea, that kind of drama. Plot becomes so unrealistic and idiotic, dialog becomes laughable... And ending...Just horrible. So overall, good start, but everything falls apart.

5/10

Kiss Me Deadly (1955)

+

I've been short for time but this is the 3rd excellent 50's noir I've seen in the last month. Very cool with an unexpected ending.

The Collector (2009) - Marcus Dunstan
Like so many modern horror movies this is really well made but not actually very good. I don't really get the whole "torture porn" thing and this wasn't a particularly good example of the genre. It was lacking in creativity and was very poorly thought out. It was basically all in one house with traps set everywhere - but if you actually see a window turned into a guillotine chop a cat in in half ... Well, you could just walk over to the window, open it, climb out, and walk away ... Judging horror movies on silly parts of the plot is probably pointless but they should at least try to avoid being dumb. Overall I've rated it higher than it really deserves because I was actually pretty impressed with how it looked - nice use of colours.

Finished here. It's been fun.

The Sword in the Stone (Reitherman, 1963)

Sure, the plot is predictable and the animation isn't the greatest, but I enjoyed this film more than I thought. It has legends, it has all the cool fantasy legends, and I grew up reading a lot of books about King Arthur and Merlin. Btw, Merlin > Gandalf + Dumbledore

I might even call it Godard's best, I love his playfulness here, at the moment it's probably my favourite along with Weekend

Lucas doesn't like your other favorite either. Sent him a PM asking why the hell
