I believe the ending of Tootsie left me on the verge of tears not so much because of the content of the story, but more for the time it came out and how different certain sensibilities were back then.
Iroquois
Dustin Hoffman brings his A-game as the actor at the centre of the narrative, who plays a perfectionist actor (what a stretch) who goes to quite the extreme in order to get himself work.
Sexy Celebrity
Dustin Hoffman stars as Michael Dorsey, an angry, brass, unemployed actor who can't get an acting gig in New York, whose agent (played by Sydney Pollack, the director) won't help him along with his career and who can't find a woman to call his own.
