Favorite Film Titles

You're a Genius all the time
A few off the top of my head...

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover
The Science of Sleep
Punch-Drunk Love
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Stranger Than Fiction
Idiocracy
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
The Squid and the Whale
Night of the Living Dead
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Mine are A Zed & Two Noughts and Glen or Glenda.

Second tier of not particularly clever titles but ones that are funny or just fit the movie well conists of:
The Brother From Another Planet
Throw Momma From the Train
The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T
Citizen Kane
The Brain That Wouldn't Die
High and Low
Sense and Sensibility

One that I hate is Death to Smoochy. The title and cover look like the main theme of the movie will be something limp like "Killing Barney" and gave me no desire to see the film.

Might as well mention my favorite book title as well: Pale Fire, which fits the book perfectly and is used for the punchline of a great ironic twist.

He's called Tequila. He's a tough cop.
Dawn of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead are both excellent titles in my opinion. Everyone else already named all I though of off the top of my head but I also like Dr. No, don't know why but it intrigues me for some reason.

Ask me a question, any question: Grill a MoFo: Dill-Man

.....doesn't know what to put here!
The Tony Blair Witch Project steals it for me, though i've never seen the film

  • THX-1138
  • Them
  • The Blob
  • Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia
  • Teenagers from Outer-Space

Well, it's a great song title and song from the late, great Warren Zevon, off his 1991 album Mr. Bad Example (maybe my favorite album of his). But yes, it was later used as that movie title in 1995.

Are Stand By Me, Blue Velvet, Sixteen Candles, Some Kind of Wonderful, Walk the Line, Pink Cadillac, Lean on Me, When a Man Loves a Woman, What's Love Got to Do with It?, Sea of Love, Addicted to Love, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Can't Buy Me Love, Across the Universe, My Blue Heaven and The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia also favorite movie titles?

Some that I find amusing or enjoy. (But don't necessarily like the movie)

- Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
- Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town
- In the Garden of Good and Evil
- Goodnight, Mr Chips
- House of Flying Daggers
- The Day the Earth Stood Still

And Zevon got the title from the novel "On The Road" by Jack Kerouac.
So perhaps we're actually taking about favorite novel titles.
