So I hear they're making a 24 movie based on the hit Emmy-Award winning Fox series. First of all, some things on T.V. were not meant to be made into movies. (Hint, Hint; High School Musical 3) The only show that made a good movie was probably the Rugrats! (I'm a Rugrats fan! The old one, not the later episodes.) I mean, yeah, Jack Bauer is one of the best heroes on T.V. today, but I don't think it should be taken to movies.

The 24 Movie is confirmed for 2008. Thoguhts?

Also, American Gangster is coming out this fall starring Denzel, Russell Crowe, rapper Cliff "T.I." Harris, (Great rapper, okay actor) its Directed by Sir Ridley Scott (One of the best today), and produced by Brian Grazer. (Also one of the best today!) It comes out two days before my birthday. (Nov. 2) Thoughts?

This is how I fell about seeing Jack Bower or whatever his name is on the big screen.

The film adaptation of the television series "24" has been confirmed quite some time ago. Thit series starring Keifer Sutherland as Agent Jack Bauer is, in my opinion, better off on TV. The countdown of twenty four hours in real time in a 2 hour movie? Nah.

28 days...6 hours...42 minutes...12 seconds
it won't happen. The studio would be alienating it's audience. Only a small group of people watch the tv show. If no one ever saw it, why would they watch the film, they would be lost.

Which is why a Sorpranos movie would sink as well.

About 24, couldn't care less, don't like the show.

As for the other one, I really couldn't care less about that one either. When I initially heard the tag line, I thought, this looks awful, after watching a preview for it, I thought, it doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't look unique.

Definitely meant for television rather than film. Few TV shows can make the trasition from successful show to successful feature lengthed movie.

With that said, Joss Whedon's Firefly was hardly a hit. Yet, the man bounced back and made a really good sci-fi adventure hit. He did something similar with Buffy The Vampire Slayer, except the format was reversed.

The thing about a 24 movie is that the film will go completely against the format the show is notable for. It's the 'real time' aspect of the show that sets it apart from other television shows. So if anything, the 24 creators have really restricted themselves in terms of transforming into a big time movie.

I ain't gettin' in no fryer!

Are you kidding me!? You're saying the only TV show to make a great transition to film was Rugrats!? How bout a recent one...like...The Simpsons!!

Uh... no? The Simpsons needs to die already. Ever since... gee, I don't know, 5 seasons ago! They're going over the same stuff.

A system of cells interlinked
But, the whole thing with 24 is that it is in real time...

What will they call the movie, 2?

Quite possibly the worst idea for a TV to film project ever...
