Confession:
I started watching Jupiter Ascending (2015) tonight - only about 20 minutes into it (but have to go to bed) - and I'm kind of enjoying it.

Again, hearing how absolutely awful it is may have been a good thing because my expectations are low. Granted, I know how movies can start out okay, but rapidly decline before the end. Also, I'm not a Mila Kunis fan (I don't know what the attraction is - she always seems like that whiny, bitchy girl from That 70's Show). But, from what I've seen so far. the special effects look great (especially the dragon / lizard guys). It seems like a fantasy geared at younger audiences (so I'm viewing it that way) - kind of an updated Disney-type Cinderella fairy tale with a sci-fi twist... and a bit of Dune thrown in.

Will watch the rest tomorrow night if able.

P.S. Watched a bit of Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) and Geez Louise! It now seemed like such a great movie after watching the 2015 Fant-Four-Stic! And I'll say again, one thing they did right in 2007 was the Surfer - he was pretty much spot on. So people were right - the awfulness of the latest remake now makes the older ones look so much better.

THREAD BUMP!

I confess to not really bumping the thread. I just wanted to use this cool pic again

What's a MoFo? My degenerate pleasure is the films of Jess Franco.

TV confession -

I liked Community, but it watches like a dated 1970s-80s comedy, and Jeff the "cool guy" main character which we saw Bill Murray play so often in those flicks, I just want to punch him.

Never saw Star Wars or any Bond movies
Jaw

drop

How is that even possible?! I mean, the Bond films and many of the old Star Wars have been on multiple times on tv? Wow, not a fan of sci-fi?

Please Quote/Tag Or I'll Miss Your Responses
I saw 4,000 movies at least, but not those.. The Sci-Fi I have seen have been kinda lousy.. The last one I saw was "THX-1138" and it was punishing. "Things To Come" had a great theme, but those kinds of movies pay too much attention to looks.

Almost posted this in the Trainspotting 2 thread, but equally applicable here. When I saw Trainspotting years ago, I could maybe understand 20-25% of what they were saying. Im gonna get it and watch it with the subtitles on now so Ill be caught up for the sequel.

ive always said jumanji should have a sequel it was my most favorite film as a kid id a video of it that a played on repeat untill my brother took it and put it in the attic i grow up and kinda forgot it . then i watched it in my mid teens and fell in love again and remembered how at 6 on the button every morning id sneak down to the tv. find the channel (it was alot easier then we had 17 if it was a good day,, ironic!!) and watch the animated cartoon series. Who else remembers watching this when the episodes were new weekly? i have this mental movie of a prequel based on how the two boys at the start who burred it and said "may lord have mercy on his sole! , got into that position . With the amazing things possible now it would take you into jumanji. im rambling on now.

The point is im not happy about cast and director if im honest i respect them all. Honest!. Just i know they wont live up to the great story ive made over the years thinking it would never come a remake at the most but this isnt a remake and i know i wont like it .

I DONT WANT IT TO BE MADE!!
