Ah ha! No, you missed that one by a good half hour or more. He was early. There was some weird rush yesterday morning for spam.

It's storming here. I hope the power stays on.

Sorry to hear. You'll get em next time!
Thanks. It just gets discouraging to keep hearing no. I have several applications in at other places though, so I didn't put all my plans in that job.

Definitely not, have you tried to learn Japanese? A language with more than 10,000 characters (yes, those "little pictures"), also has a highly hierarchical structure and two phonetic alphabets, which means that even if you know how to write certain word when it comes to say it you have to say it with the correct accent, otherwise it could mean something totally different from what you mean.

Besides the English is not the only language that use "slangs". Even the Spanish (which is more similar to German, in terms of sentence structure), is more difficult to learn than English, because it has more complex grammatical laws and conjugation of verbs in different times is really complicated. If someone does not speak good English (like me) it is nothing more laziness than anything else. PS: I do not live in any English-speaking country.
I can speak Japanese so I know what you mean about the phonetics of certain words.
Never learned the characters though, just how to speak it.

Marmite goes well on a cheese sarnie.

I've never tried Marmite. Though I've heard it tastes like fortified Bovril.
Marmite is basically the black stuff found at the bottom of a Guinness barrel.
I'm trying it asap. I'll let you know what I think.
