No. I do believe that you are to list movies that you will suffer through, having to watch them repeatedly, while in hell.

Which Dracula movie do you mean, and please don't give Rob any more ideas. You mean Halloween. Some other ass-hat is remaking Friday the 13th.
Rob Zombie is one of the best horror directors ever.

also..why would you be angry that there is going to be a remake of Friday the 13th?

Don't get wise with her. Did you read more of the thread? I already corrected her error. She simply meant to say Rob Zombie's Halloween.

Rob Zombie is one of the best horror directors ever.
In your opinion, which doesn't match mine at all.

I'm simply not a fan of "most" remakes. I like some, but not many. It's just a slasher movie, that evolved from Halloween. In my opinion, there is really no need for another one. I felt the same way about Halloween.

There are way too many remakes these days. Mostly because originality is becoming extinct. God forbid someone come up with something new.

No, he isn't. The guy is a total hack. All his films have been lackluster, abysmal junk. Halloween actually started off as a somewhat interesting character study, then deteriorated into a chopped up, poorly done version of the original. His attempt to squeeze all the seminal scenes from the first film into a 30 minute vignette at the end of his film failed miserably. The Carpenter film is a thousand times better than his over-the-top, gore filled teeny bopper splatter-fest.

Here's hoping this guy gives up on both film making, and rock music, because he is terrible at both.

For the record, here are the collected percentages of positive response from around the county for Zombie's films, um, I mean movies. He doesn't make films.

House of 1,000 Corpses
- 16% positive - Horrible, just terrible stuff.

The Devil's Rejects
- 55% - Hey, he improved after his first effort! Not hard to do, since his previous effort is in the running for "Worst Film Ever Made". Still a bad movie, but at least he learned how to shoot a scene.

Halloween or: I'm out of ideas, so it's time to start doing remakes. - 26% - Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, but, he blew it again. Why did he even attempt this remake? Because he is a BAD filmmaker. Bad filmmakers make bad decisions, and this guy is the worst.

I am sure he will get back into making films, after he finishes up his world tour with Has-been Ozbourne. Funny, I don't remember Rob putting out any new records recently. Of wait, He put out a live album of his old stuff.

Wait a minute. He went on tour to promote...a LIVE ALBUM??? Oh, that is rich.

After that, he will make a film about how he wants to make a film, shortly followed by a meeting concerning the fact that he would like to have a meeting about making sure he has enough meetings.

Boooooooooo

Some films are so bad, they would even take your mind off of being in hell.

I generally disregard any statement that has "ever" at the end of it.

Okay… get the rotten tomatoes ready… but if I had to watch Gone With the Wind over and over again I'd probably start entertaining the idea of volunteering to do something pretty evil for 'Ole Scratch in an attempt to escape watching it… even for a little while…

I don't think it's becoming extinct, it's just that remakes are a safer bet to make money than an original project. This makes me weep, but I think it's true.

Very little originality nowadays. There are endless sequels, remakes, similarities to successful movies, plundering comic books, etc. I was in a hotel in Bangkok earlier this year and on the movie channel came a film about a struggling baseball team which Martin Lawrence is put in charge of. I like Martin Lawrence but have seen that theme so many times I just turned the TV off.

Welcome to the human race...
I'm reminded of something that Powdered Water once said about how he'd refuse to throw away all but one movie from his collection because he reckoned that watching the same movie again and again for eternity sounded hellish enough, no matter how good it was. I'm inclined to agree. Then again, I'm not like those posters on here who've watched their favourite movies something like 200 times each. But who knows, they may have their breaking points as well.

Grave of the Fireflies
? One of the best Anime films ever created. The Man Who Wasn't There?? Absolutely fantastic film, in every way.

This post just has to be fishing for a flame war...

I liked the movie in spite of the immature twaddle of that speech. Come to think of it, there was some awful silly dialogue in that movie.

"Awful silly dialogue"?????? Bite your tongue, rufnek.

Obviously, rufnek, you are not a woman. If you were a woman, you would not call that speech "immature twaddle." You would understand how incredibly sexy that speech is, along with being pretty brilliant. And I should inform you that I received two rep points for quoting that speech, both from women. Because women are smart. We understand.

We are in tune with what is sexy. You, however, being a man, do not.

And as to that "silly dialogue," well, "hit the bull" was pretty damn funny, along with nearly every line of dialogue on the baseball field. Best baseball movie ever. Funniest baseball movie ever.

Smartest baseball movie ever. Because you see, baseball and sex go hand in hand. Didn't you know?

Yeah, as long as you have a "bat" and balls, you're pretty much in the game.

Brenda likes that speech even more that the "Sixty-Minute Man" scene. I like the whole movie, so I don't differentiate.
Me, too. But my favorite bits (beside the speech) are Kevin and Tim on the field with Kevin telling him what to do (like I mentioned above, "hit the bull." I also love the candlesticks/wedding bit, and when Kevin tells the hitter who is hesitating to run, "I just gave you a gift!"

You know, I think I'll watch this movie again after all this discussion. It's been awhile. Watching this movie is one of my fondest memories of my marriage. We used to sit and laugh... good times.
