Rob Zombie is one of the best horror directors ever.
also..why would you be angry that there is going to be a remake of Friday the 13th?
No, he isn't. The guy is a total hack. All his films have been lackluster, abysmal junk.
Halloween actually started off as a somewhat interesting character study, then deteriorated into a chopped up, poorly done version of the original. His attempt to squeeze all the seminal scenes from the first film into a 30 minute vignette at the end of his film failed miserably. The Carpenter film is a thousand times better than his over-the-top, gore filled teeny bopper splatter-fest.
Here's hoping this guy gives up on both film making, and rock music, because he is terrible at both.

For the record, here are the collected percentages of positive response from around the county for Zombie's films, um, I mean movies. He doesn't make films.
House of 1,000 Corpses - 16% positive - Horrible, just terrible stuff.
The Devil's Rejects - 55% - Hey, he improved after his first effort! Not hard to do, since his previous effort is in the running for "Worst Film Ever Made". Still a bad movie, but at least he learned how to shoot a scene.
Halloween or: I'm out of ideas, so it's time to start doing remakes. - 26% - Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, but, he blew it again. Why did he even attempt this remake? Because he is a BAD filmmaker. Bad filmmakers make bad decisions, and this guy is the worst.
I am sure he will get back into making films, after he finishes up his world tour with Has-been Ozbourne. Funny, I don't remember Rob putting out any new records recently. Of wait, He put out a live album of his old stuff.
Wait a minute. He went on tour to promote...a LIVE ALBUM??? Oh, that is rich.
After that, he will make a film about how he wants to make a film, shortly followed by a meeting concerning the fact that he would like to have a meeting about making sure he has enough meetings.
Boooooooooo
