10 worst films ever created

Tools

Welcome to the human race...
Noticed I haven't posted, mainly because I never really give much thought to the whole "worst movie" concept. I think it's because 99% of the time I know what I'm in for and the experience at worst is a "meh, I didn't like it." Rarely, very rarely, do I actually watch a "bad" movie. I don't feel like posting most of them because they are actually acclaimed movies that I feel somewhat stupid for criticising.

Having said that, here are five that come to mind right now. If I can think of another five, I'll add them and maybe add in some order.

Ocean's 12 - Never saw the first film and ended up being forced to see this at the last minute (for reasons I've detailed repeatedly in other threads). An uninvolving sequel with quite possibly one of the worst "meta" jokes ever made.

Knocked Up - I'm not exactly mad for Judd Apatow and everything he and his stable of writers/actors touch, and Knocked Up marks the worst movie to have come from this so-called second coming of comedy (it sort of ties with Superbad as well, which I may or may not include). This may or may not be more "overrated" than "worst", but still, I didn't like it.

Christmas with the Kranks - This covers all the bad family movies I've ever had to watch.

Any Harry Potter film - aside from some decent special effects work, these movies have very little to offer. If we have to specify, I'd pick Goblet of Fire as the worst, for the distinctly cringeworthy emphasis put on the whole "Holy s**t, they're teenagers!" thing, namely the Yule Ball complete with a wizard rock band. How something that awesome-sounding manages to totally fail is beyond me.

The Departed - to be fair, I saw Infernal Affairs first, so I didn't really need to see this. But I still did, and was let down badly. There were only about two or three decent scenes and the rest was highly inferior.

Have to disagree there,

I also saw the original version first (at the cinema no less), and whilst it's a very good film, I feel that 'The Departed' is superior. Mainly because the acting is so much better, Leonardo Di Caprio in particular is brilliant in it.

Welcome to the human race...
Excluding the whole "remake" issue as a fault, I thought the acting was exceptionally bad, especially from Nicholson and Wahlberg. I couldn't take it seriously.

Wow, I really liked the acting, as well. The funny thing about Wahlberg, is that he absolutely NAILED his part. I live in Boston, and I know people like this. Yes, they act just like that. Completely realistic. Great film, but not one of Scorsese's top 5 as far as I am concerned.

Hey, I like it too, but only because it is the worst **** I have ever seen, like, ever. I can't stop laughing. I love how it's called Troll 2, but the creatures are goblins.
I didnt love it and I dont own any of them.. I've never seen Troll 3 so what do I care?? My partial top 10 would feature Troll..

Hey, Sedai, you better not let linespalsy see you trashin' Ishtar.
Ishtar is a funny, good film from the 80s, like the acting, like the songs. Shut your face, haters.

I Spit on Your Grave is laughably boring, but worst is impossible, no matter how bad a movie is, there's always a worse possible one. And you can never be sure until you watch them all... hell is a bottomless pit of tasteless colorless artless filth. Or maybe that's purgatory. When I was in high school I probably made home movies with my friends that are as bad as anything anyone here can name. I'm now moving on to the topic of "evil" films, films that may be well made but are the spawn of cruel intentions (another "bad" film but not an "evil" one), but , my curse is that I'm impervious to offense.

Unless someone says they hate Ishtar...

Well, I sure can't wait to point and laugh at your Top 10 list... Say, are you planning on actually posting one?

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
He's already posted his Top 10 in his Top 100 list. He means that Troll would go in his 10 Worst.

I don't know what could be the worst movies ever made, but here are some the worst I've ever scene in a theatre:

5. Candyman 2 - Y'know, when it comes to crappy films, my mind mind doesn't retain too much memory fot them. I honestly can't remember a single shot of this movie. I just remember not leaving the theatre b'cuz I was on a date at the time & we were watching this at her suggestion.
And I didn't want to be rude. Or maybe I just didn't want to lessen my chances of getting laid that night by criticizing her choice of film to see.
Or are those two things the same thing?
And I can't even remember if I did end up gettin' any that night.
Forgettable movie, forgettable date, why am I still writing about it?

4. One of those g%dd@mn Freddy Kruger movies - I think that the quality was bad enough that it caused my brain to forget most of it, to the point that I can't remember which one it was. All I remember is that it was one of the sequels and that one of the blood vessels in my eyes popped because I wouldn't listen to it's silent yet violent twitching cries for mercy.

3. Battlefield Earth - Probably the only movie that I ever sat thru where upon the diasterous feeling that resulted from watching it, along with the diaster that the movie itself is, overwhelmed the story of diaster that the movie was supposed to depict.
I may have survived watching this movie,
but the sane aspect of my mind & every part of my soul have been permanently scarred.
A diaster flick in every sense that is possible to imagine.
I genuinely wanted to die during this movie.

2. Graphitti Bridge - Oh lawd....

1. Thorr The Barbarian - I apologize. I know the purpose of these reviews are to inform, but the only thing that my memory that my mind seems to have retained about this movie is the fact that it was spelled with 2 'r's should have been a tip off.

Why did you stop with Duck Soup, Caity? WSS Lover, can you explain that post because you've got some terrific films on there.
To be honest, mark f, I've always liked films with more action to them, and I found the film Duck Soup to be boring and devoid of action.

Ragging on the Body Snatchers remake? You mean the one from the 70s? Because that is certainly not a bad film, and contains one of the most memorable endings in film history.

Also - Blow Up? The Antonioni film? Come on now!

Deliverance is certainly not a bad film, either. I take it the subject matter wasn't your cup of tea?

Caity hit the nail on the head, with Ghost Rider. Terrible stuff.
Well, Sedal; Body Snatchers and Deliverance were really, really overdone, imo. While I'm willing to watch a certain amount of gore and violence, these two films were out of my comfort zone.

As for the film Blow Up, it was just a disappointment to me. I felt very let down by this film, because I'd expected it to be more exciting. Maybe it's because I saw it when it was way out of date, but who knows.

Since I never saw Ghost Rider, however, I don't have a dog in any discussion about this particular film.

Welcome to the human race...
Fair enough. I was working off the whole "if it has an IMDb page it counts as a separate movie" principle, which I also applied to Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story and South Park's "Imaginationland" story, both of which are released on separate DVDs to the show but are not counted as movies but rather special/"to-be-continued" episodes.

WSSLover, which version of Body Snatchers were you talking about? I don't remember much gore in the 70s version. I think there was a version in the early 90s, which I haven't seen, and I am wondering if this was the version you saw. The one I am talking about was from 1978, and it stars Donald Sutherland, Leonard Nimoy, and Jeff Goldblum.

Troll 2 (Gets my vote as the worst film ever made)

The New Barbarians
(my least favourite piece of Italian Trash...CRAP!)

C.H.U.D. II: Bud the Chud
(Gerritt Graham was wasted)

Inseminoid
aka Horror Planet (even a young Stephanie Beacham couldn't save this clunker)

The Driller Killer
(more about a crappy garage band than a killer, boring)

The Dead Next Door (Sam Raimi wants his money back, groan!)

Neon Maniacs (stupid movie, just stupid, stupid stupid stupid, oh and no gore whatsoever)

Xtro 2: The Second Encounter
(another grade D 'Aliens' clone, happy days NOT!)

The Hidden 2 (rent the original and pretend like they never made this abomination)

Fortress 2
(yeah yeah I know, it was my own fault for renting it)

Bud the Chud? Fracking hilarious...

I also love that make-up on the Troll 2 cover. Looks like my niece did it or something.
