Tomorrow I'll be getting Michael Ritchie's hardboiled pulp classic Prime Cut with Lee Marvin & Gene Hackman (first time available letterboxed!!!) and the new Casino SE. And be careful if you go to get Casino, as for some fu*ked-up reason they've gone to the trouble of a pan&scan edition of this 2.40:1 widescreen Scorsese film as well.

Buyer beware!

But doesn't pretty much any movie that comes out nowadays even with a ratio such as that come in both widescreen and full screen versions? I stopped assuming that and now look very closely for that word widescreen in the back of the dvd after i got shafted a couple times.

Well, I didn't buy it, I found it on my desk when I came in this morning (thanks boss!!)

Star Wars : Episode III - Work print

For a "bootleg" it's damn good quality, if not widescreen, which is a drag. But still, Episode III, on DVD! No shakey cam-corder version here...I don't like piracy, but hell, I just walked in a found it a' sittin' here! Gift horse...no look in mouth....

Shame on you!

*shakes finger (not the middle one)*

I got a copy myself, sounds like the same copy with all those numbers on top of the screen... from my neighbor down the street. She left in my mail box. I was happy to see that it was not incriminating evidence.

Still gonna buy one when it comes out on DVD to cure my guilt from the filthy copy left on my door step.

That's funny cause i was just inquiring about that film and the guy told me it was extremely funny with that "Office Space" feel to it.

Cool thread. Yesterday I bought East of Eden, James Dean's first movie. There's a collector's set out with all three of them, but I already own Giant and Rebel Without A Cause... although RWAC is now out in a 2-disc special edition!

Some other recent buys have been Keeping Up Appearances discs 1-4, National Lampoon's Van Wilder (not for myself - although Ryan Reynolds naked makes it worth the buy), Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Seed of Chucky, Hellraiser: Deader... and there's been a slew of others before those. Blade: Trinity, House of Flying Daggers, Advice From A Catepillar, Golden Girls: Season Two, and some others.

God, my DVD buying has gone down a chilling amount lately, mainly because I've been buying more music lately... what going on?

Anyways, last one I bought was Shaun of the Dead. A good one for rewatching I figure.
