I'd give her a HA! and a HI-YA! Then I'd kick her.
Well I do have enough to make a list and all, but there is so many classic 60s-films that I haven't watched. Bergman, Tarkovsky, and those praised foreign ones like High and Low etc.

Being the perfectionist I am, I'm not satisfied with how I "cover" the 60's, movie-watching-wise, as of now. I want to watch many more.

So who or what's stopping you?

Well, somehow I have always had a hard time watching older movies back-to-back like that. I love movies from all periods in time, but somehow I have to be in a special mood to watch and appreciate movies from the 60's and down. I already watched two 60's films that I kind of regret I "forced" myself into because I actually ended up not liking them that much, and thinking they would have been better if I had been in the right mood.

So, I don't know. I guess I will be watching whatever amount I can manage without feeling forced to watch them. And on a lighter note, it's not like I haven't got enough 60's movies watched already to make a decent list.

Yeah, I've noticed recently that the "Movie You're Watching Tonight" thread and the "Rate the Last Movie You've Seen" thread have been flooded with foreign movies. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only one here who doesn't like foreign films.
Why do you dislike foreign films? Is it because of focusing on the subtitles instead of the film? If a foreign film is very good, you really dont need the subtitles to understand whats going on.

Yes, basically it's because of the subtitles. I find them very distracting while trying to watch the movie. I miss a lot of stuff like facial expressions because I'm too busy reading subtitles.

I've watched a bunch of foreign films that were nominated in the Hall of Fames here, so I'm starting to get a little bit better at it, but it's still kind of distracting, and I find that I have to keep rewinding the movie to see what I missed.

Song of the Sea (2014) - I watched this movie because it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

I liked this movie a lot, but not as much as I expected based on what I'd heard about it. This movie is a fairy tale about a child who finds out that the fairy tales that his mother told him as a child were actually real.

The animation is very nice, the music is terrific, and the song during the closing credits was beautiful. The voice acting is excellent, although the accents are a bit hard to understand at times.

The movie is a little bit childish, but great for kids of all ages.

The Boxtrolls (2014) - I watched this movie because it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

This is a very cute movie. It's a dark comedy that's kind of weird, but it's funny and fast-paced. It was better than I expected, but IMO, it's not really Oscar quality.

The animation is very well done, the Boxtroll characters are kind of cute, in a weird way, and the growing friendship between the two kids, Eggs and Winnie, is adorable. The villain Archibald Snatcher (voiced by Ben Kingsley), is most likely based on the Child Catcher in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang".

Overall this is a very clever movie, and I would definitely recommend it.

Big Eyes (2014) - I watched this movie because, based on the movie poster, I thought this was an animated movie. For those of you who aren't familiar with this movie, it isn't animated. It's a biography of painter Margaret Keane, (Amy Adams), whose husband Walter Keane, (Christoph Waltz), took credit for her work.

This is a good movie with an interesting story. The acting is very good, but the problem with the movie is that it's hard to feel sympathetic towards Margaret because she knows what her husband is doing, and she goes along with it.

IMO, this is one of Tim Burton's better movies. I'm glad to see that he didn't screw it up by casting Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in the movie.

On a side note, I love Margaret Keane's "big eyes" paintings. My parents had a few of them hanging on the walls in my childhood home. (They were kids dressed as jesters.)

Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960) - I watched this movie for the upcoming 1960s movie list. I've seen this movie before, but not recently, so when it aired on TCM recently it seemed like a good time to re-watch it.

This movie is funny and enjoyable. It has some great dramatic moments too, but mostly, it's just a lot of fun. The kids are kind of annoying in this movie, but the adults are so much fun that they make up for it. Even the dog has some funny scenes.

David Niven and Doris Day have great chemistry together. It's not quite as good as her chemistry with Rock Hudson or James Garner, but they were great together in this movie. The supporting cast is great too, including Richard Haydn, Janis Paige, and Spring Byington. The title song isn't a very good song, but it's kind of catchy.

Advance to the Rear (1964) - I watched this movie for the upcoming 1960s movie list. I had never heard of this movie before, but I've been trying to watch some Glenn Ford movies, so when it aired on TCM recently, I decided to watch it.

This movie is okay, but it's not great. It has some funny scenes, and some clever lines, but overall, the movie is kind of silly, and even a bit boring at times. It kind of reminded me of the TV show "F-Troop", but not as funny.

I prefer Glenn Ford in his lighter movies, but this was not one of his better movies. His performance is good, and the supporting cast is also very good, but the script is kind of weak. The music is very good, especially the song "Today", which is performed by The New Christy Minstrels for this movie.

A Ticklish Affair (1963) - This is another movie that I watched for the upcoming 1960s movie list. I had never heard of this movie before, but it aired on TCM recently, and the synopsis sounded interesting, so I decided to watch it.

This is a very cute movie, but the balloon idea is a bit crazy. It's hard to believe that any mother would let her kids float up in the air by a bunch of balloons, or that the kid would be smart enough to come up with the crazy plan that this kid supposedly thought up, but if you can suspend disbelief and just go with it, this is a very enjoyable movie with a great tension-filled ending.

Shirley Jones and Gig Young have great chemistry together. Red Buttons is terrific as the kids' fun uncle. The kids are adorable, including a very young Billy Mumy.

With Six You Get Eggroll (1968) - This is another movie that I watched for the upcoming 1960s movie list. It's been on my watchlist for a long time, so this seemed like a good time to watch it.

This movie is basically a good movie, but it drags a little bit at times. It's a fairly entertaining movie with some laughs, but it's kind of like a chaotic version of "The Brady Bunch" with unlikeable kids.

Doris Day and Brian Keith were good together, but they don't have the great chemistry that she had with some of her other leading men. There are a bunch of nice cameos of future stars including William Christopher and Jamie Farr (from the TV series "M*A*S*H"), Vic Tayback (from the TV series "Alice"), and the movie debut of George Carlin.

Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed? (1963) - I watched this movie for the upcoming 1960s movie list. This is another movie that's been on my watchlist for a long time, and I finally got around to watching it.

This is a very enjoyable movie, but it's not Dean Martin's best movie. It has lots of smiles and grins, but not a lot of laugh-out-loud moments. Like most romantic comedies, this movie is kind of predictable, but the fantastic cast makes it worth watching.

Elizabeth Montgomery and Dean Martin are very good in this movie, but they don't have a lot of chemistry together. Carol Burnett is very funny, and she steals the movie in her film debut.

The Party (1968) - This is another movie that I watched for the upcoming 1960s movie list. I'm hit or miss on Peter Sellers' movies, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this movie.

This movie was kind of like watching Inspector Clouseau bumble his way through a high-class party. The movie is very slow paced, to the point that it gets a bit boring at times, and it gets more and more predictable as the movie goes on. Some scenes were funny, but some of it is just kind of dumb. Unfortunately when that much goes wrong for one person, there's a point when it's not funny anymore. It's just sad.

Peter Sellers basically plays his Inspector Clouseau character again, but with no mystery and no real plot, this movie just lacks the fun and charm of the Pink Panther movies.

Trouble with a capitial 'T'
I've seen 2 of these: Please Don't Eat the Daisies and With Six You Get Eggroll I'd like to see:Advance to the Rear (as it has Stella Stevens) and A Ticklish Affair (as is has Shirley Jones) and Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed?(as it has Elizabeth Montgomery)

Hey I used to enjoy watching this when I was younger... so much better than the TV show spin off...

I never saw the Please Don't Eat the Daisies TV show, but from your comment, it doesn't sound like I missed much.
