The Expendables 3

Tbh, I'm loving the Ex series...

About time I reckon that a bunch of films brought all these guys together.
2 was a better film than the original though.
Am looking forward to Ex3...

On the outside looking in.
I like to think of The Expendables series in the same way that I think about the Grown Ups series. Grown Ups is filled with a bunch of comedians, many of which made one or two movies that I actually enjoyed, however, lately a lot of their movies have been horrible. If bringing them altogether for one big movie every couple of years keeps more "That's My Boys" and "Jack & Jill" movies from being released, so be it. You can easily tweak that a little bit and get my thoughts on The Expendables.

The second EXPENDABLES was an improvement on the first, but the series should end there.

Stallone Hints That Mel Gibson Will Be in Expendables 3

So Sylvester Stallone apparently confirmed that rumor that Mel Gibson will be the villain in The Expendables 3.

Sly tweeted this yesterday: "Mad Max vs Barney Ross......"

We're pretty confident in assuming he doesn't mean the big screen's next Mad Max, Tom Hardy. So if this pans out and Mel's in the sequel then the cast would so far include Nicolas Cage, Milla Jovovich, Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan and most likely Steven Seagal. Filming is expected to commence next month.

How do you feel about Gibson -- who will soon be seen as the villain in Machete Kills -- popping up in Expendables 3?

My name's Bobby Peru, like the country.
Sly wanted to make a homage movie for the 80's action film stars and i thought that was a great idea.

But it seems like the dynamic should be flipped (more mighty villians than mighty heroes) i mean come on Matrix took on a whole army by himself to save his daughter and Rambo decimated an army of NVA and Russians by himself to save his buddies.

Sly should of kept the Expendables to a small core group of MAYBE 4 people

News!!

Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Nicholas Cage and Jackie Chan, Van Damme, Mickey Rourke, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal and Clint Eastwood are all officially out.
Willis apparently wanted too much money for barely 4 days work, so was written out.

Cast has been confirmed.

Stallone
Schwarzenegger
Statham
Jet Li
Randy Couture
Dolph Lundgren
Terry Crews

New cast:
Harrison Ford
Wesley Snipes
Antonio Banderas
Mel Gibson
Glen Powell (TDKR and some TV work)
Victor Ortiz (Professional Boxer)
Kellan Lutz (Twilight Saga)
Ronda Rousey (Female Mixed Martial Artist)

Principle photography is currently underway.

The plot is to revolve around a man called Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) being an old partner of Barney Ross (Stallone). They founded The Expendables Mercenaries together years before... but Stonebanks became unstable and ruthless in the Arms Trade, forcing a rift between him and Barney Ross.
Stonebanks is back though, and looking for revenge.

Willis is his own worst enemy.

He destroyed Die Hard with 4.0 and A Good Day... and is continuing to do so by making a 6th instalment.
Now he demands $4m for 4 days work in an ensemble franchise that is actually successful.

Willis, open your eyes... your career and Die Hard Franchise are on the rocks... and you aren't as important as you used to be.

He is just being a greedy bugger. He would of been better off just taking the fee they offered him and done the four days work.
I havent seen the newest Die hard film, ive heard its not great. Just waiting for it to be cheaper in price.
I also didnt know there was going to be another Die Hard. Die Hard 4 was no where near as good as the trilogy It seems far to easy these days to just make another sequel, I bet half the time the original script they get is nothing to do with the series they are trying to add to. I bet they just choose one, change the name, characters and some parts of the story and then slap a name on it like 'Die Hard' or in the recent film where I thought this, 'The Hangover part 3' where there was no actual 'Hangover' it was more of a heist film.

Too bad Jackie Chan's not gonna be in, he would have been badass!

That's one of the funny things with Die Hard though... none of the scripts, Die Hard, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Die Hard 4.0... none of them were written as Die Hard films.

The scripts were bought out and treated so they could be used as Die Hard films.
Die Hard was supposed to be a sequel to Commando.
Die Hard's John McClane = Commando's John Matrix...

Die Hard With A Vengeance was supposed to be an original film.

4.0 was an original script too... but was treated and made into the 4th Die Hard so it would sell tickets.

As far as I can tell, 2 and 5 were actually written as Die Hard films... yet they're the worst of the lot.
The ones that were written as something else but treated to become Die Hard films (1, 3 & 4) are the better ones of the lot.

Anyway... I'm looking forward to Ex3.

Love the first two, lots of cheese and 80s throwback fun. The third should be good, especially with a younger cast on board too.

I knew about Die Hard, and DHwaV, but not Die Hard 4 being written to be other movies.

This all now makes sense...

Well, news in is that Jason Statham nearly drowned on set.

He was driving a truck and was supposed to stop and get out and start shooting guns and stuff... and the truck didn't stop... he ended up going over a dock and into a lake.

The truck sank right to the bottom of the lake. Statham apparently broke out through the back window and swam to the surface... if he'd have waited for rescue, he would have drowned because nobody was prepared for the accident...

... and Terry Crews was almost hurt as well when he fell off the back of the truck just before the accident happened and landed in a heap, apparently from shock all he could do was shout "Jason!" while watching Statham sink.

Minutes after the accident, Statham wrung the water out of his clothes and wanted to carry on filming.

28 days...6 hours...42 minutes...12 seconds
Glad to see Gibson and Snipes in a film that's coming to theatres!!!
