Did anybody else catch last night's Season 2 premiere?

Personally I think it's the best individual episode that's ever come out of the show. The pacing feels far more organic and less episodic than the first season (even the later episodes). It's grreat to see that they found a place for Ward on the show after his defection to Hydra; he and Sky (who is now an official badass) definitely have some uncomfortable possibilities in the future.

What happened to Fitz though... jeez. They just took what happened in the Season 1 finale to its logical extreme. His performance (and latest developments) totally made the episode.

I ca't wait to see where else they take things this season.

I'm surprised nobody even talks about this show on this forum. It's a major shock really. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a major addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a huge impact to the whole Marvel universe in general.

Not only has Captain America: The Winter Soldier made an impact and had continuity factors, it seems the latest winter finale episode entitled "What They Become" is a SERIOUS contender and addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Since not one member has cared to discuss this program since it premiered in 2013, I will just say it without spoiler tags.....

It turns out the character of Skye is actually Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake. And her father is 'The Doctor' (or in the comics he is known as Marvel villain 'Mr. Hyde'). With Skye and Raina (Ruth Negga) both going down in that chamber and activating the crystal and releasing the dust in the finale, it seems Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is finally connected the Kree aliens (which Skye happens to be, as is Ronan and Thanos)... slowly connecting to Guardians of the Galaxy, and thereby setting up the oncoming of Marvel’s Inhumans.

There's a strong possibility that the lost city - the Mists, and what happened to Skye are all related to Inhumans, and possibly even the introduction of “The Twins” (Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver) in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Could Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver be Inhumans themselves???

I have been watching the show since the beginning. I really like the program. And I have called the Kree connection since the first season and we saw the big blue corpse. The Inhuman connection has not been lost on me, and I believe it will come to pass in later seasons. Now Quicksilver does have a connection to the Inhumans in the comics. He was married to one. But since 20th Century Fox holds the X-Men license I think that is the most likely course they will follow.

As for Skye I just watched the episode (even stopping my current Game of Thrones binge for it). I knew she had SOME connection to some future property, and I knew they had to tie it into the Marvel Universe beyond Earth somehow. Seems I was correct in that. Needless to say I can't wait for March.

Ya'll who know more about the comics may be more enthused with the last few episodes, since you know where they're going (roughly). And maybe it's a place well worth going. But I have to admit to being a little disappointed.

Quick background: been watching steadily since the beginning. Like everyone else, didn't get a lot out of the first half of the first season. Really clunky, kinda thing you'd only enjoy if you were just completely champing at the bit for more Marvel stuff. Got way better when you-know-what happened, been a good show (but not great) since. Definitely had some nice peaks.

With that setup, I think it's meandered a little lately. Maybe it's just me, but the whole alien/ancient artifact stuff feels a little more Indiana Jones than Marvel. We're talking about purposes and prophecies and it just feels a tad out of place. They're still doing it pretty well (especially considering this is a flippin' TV show), but I'm a little lukewarm to the general vibe. I think it's because you can write almost anything in if you use "alien technology" as the cause.

That, and I really thought we'd get a little more explanation out of the midseason/winter/whatever finale. We basically got none.

I'm mostly complaining here, which makes it sound like I have huge problems with it, but that's just because that's what's on my mind right now. It's a good show that's gotten better, and I'm really pleased that it managed to right the bus after the first group of episodes.

Also:

AoS will have a huge a massive impact, and tie in with the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron in a HUGE way. So that's going to be cool to see how it all lays out. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 beginning in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, movie crossovers galore, and the show getting better and better....they surely have a remarkable future ahead of them on ABC.

The mid-season finale was AWESOME. Yoda has some points, but I feel like many of those issues just sort of come with the territory in a sci-fantasy show like this. The final minutes of the episode had LT and I with jaws on the floor - clearly due to the events, but also in how well that final sequence was put together technically. Like Yoda said, this is a friggin TV show, and that was some film quality production near the end of the episode.

This is a sturdy train, this show, but it slips around on the tracks sometimes when the script gets dodgy from time to time, but again, I think that is the nature of the beast with material of this sort.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Plothole to be Fixed By Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

If you saw Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last week, then you know how it helped set up Avengers: Age of Ultron. There’s a plot hole in the movie that will be filled with a storyline from the show.

For those of you who haven’t seen Age of Ultron yet:



During an interview with /Film, Kevin Feige was asked about this part of the movie, and if it’s something that will be addressed on S.H.I.E.L.D., and this was his reply:

So, to tie both together there’s going to be a storyline in the show where we see:

There’s no word on when we’ll see that episode, but it could happen anytime now. It will be interesting to see how the events from Age of Ultron impact the show, and how the series could most likely lead us into Captain America: Civil War.

I'm debating on watching this - I'm not big enough on the Marvel films to watch it for that reason alone (though Avengers 2 is definitely one of my favorite superhero movies) - I'm wondering if this is something that's enjoyable enough on its own right, or made just with the die hard Marvel fanboys in mind

It seems that Falcon (Anthony Mackie) might appear in Season 3.
