. I think the whole thing is just disturbing... I think it's more like a cult....
Can you believe Vatican has a category for Exorcist Priests,so it's not much a cult but more of a LARP. LOL

thank goodness I went on holiday when I did cos I missed the last bit of his visit. But did you notice Hun, when they repeat that piece of fact above on teh news now they always say "the Pope, who was forced to be in the Hitler Youth..."
I didn't, but that's because I avoided the news for most of his visit. All far too annoying and, as the news is fairly pointless anyway these days, I guess it wasn't so too difficult. TBF, I'm guessing that if you weren't a member of the Hitler Youth at the time, you'd probably get a knock on the door. A bit like having a copy of Mein Kamf. If you didn't have one, people wanted to know why. Then the Nazi Party wanted to know why, etc. That said, if you were young and hadn't known any different, the chances are you'd want to join. After all, all your friends are members.

I could care less about popes and if he's making taxpayers pay for his little vacation, shame on him and the entire Vatican/Catholic Church. I think the whole "Pope" thing is ridiculous, a sham, a fraud, an ancient crapfest that should have died out a long time ago. I'm not Catholic and I don't mean to offend people who call themselves Catholic, but in our modern age, we shouldn't need to look up to some old, ugly goon who is called a religious authority and must be treated like some kind of God on Earth. I think the whole thing is just disturbing... I think it's more like a cult....
All religions are cults or, at least, started that way. They're just the ones that survived and became the Establishment.

Does the Pope crap in the woods?

@Yoda @Sedai

I am aware of the "no religious discussion" policy on the boards, and this thread seems to predate that policy.

Having said that, are we allowed to use this thread to comment on the Pope's health? No drifting into religious discussion, per se, just keep it to the health of a world leader, and nothing more than his health?

Or is that too much?

Correct, this predates the policy. There are a handful of threads like this that have been forgotten about, but which we close when we notice them, which is what I'll do now.
