With the success of "StarCraft 2, it certainly makes you wonder whether other Blizzard franchises might on silver screen. It is reported that Blizzard would produce starcraft movie. Is it true?

I always felt starcraft game had some resemblance to starship troopers, except better

Who's directing?? Uwe Boll maybe??

I'd love to see a Diablo movie.

Starship Troopers is a fun flick - a fun goofball parody/satire in the same vein as Robocop.

I want to see the WOW flick actually come to fruition before they start messing about with a Starcraft flick.

You want them to adapt MMORPG into a film??... that would be an innovative adaptation, won't it?
But I am guessing you meant Warcraft.

You really think anyone can get Warcraft into film the right way?... seems impossible, I'd like to see them try though..

Diablo on the other hand would make a good film, as it's not complex like Warcraft..
It's just your standard Sword & Sorcery with hints of Horror.

It's already in the works, and has been for some time. Blizzard just wants it to hit at the right time, so they still have it in the pre-production stage. Also, WOW is the single most lore-rich game in existence today, with literally millions of words of lore placed throughput the game world. They certainly have enough material to tell many stories about Azeroth.

"As such, the movie is set one year before World of Warcraft and will primarily told from the Alliance's point of view, though Metzen says his heart lies with the Horde. Characters such as Cairne Bloodhoof, Thrall, Sylvanas Windrunner, and Bolvar Fordragon are likely to make appearances. Arthas is unlikely to appear.[1] At BlizzCon 2007, Chris Metzen said that the main character is set to be a new hero described as a "kick-ass Human" and an "Anti-Thrall".[2][3] This new character in the movie is not same one as in the comic (now known to be Varian Wrynn)."

Sam Raimi is attached to the project as director as this time.

Thrall is in it... I am in..

Also, I kind of feel Sam Raimi will do a good job... he's still the best director for such films..

I played Warcraft 3 ages ago, So don't remember much..
I hope they include Illidan, he's so badass to be left out..

Illidan appeared in The Burning Crusade portion of WOW (released in 2007), which was the first expansion for the MMO. He resides in the Outlands in the Black Temple, which is a raid people still run sometimes to this day. Illidan himself was considered one of the hardest bosses in the game when the BC content was current. The game and the players have moved on at this point, and everyone hangs around in Northrend trying to kill Arthas instead. On my server, I still see people putting raids to gether to go see Black Temple though, as i hear it was really fun/impressive. I didn't play back when he was current.

Never played Starcraft myself, but if you were talking of Warcraft...
Give it a try.. I never tried WoW.. but Warcraft 3 was a gaming experience I will never forget...

I also recommend Diablo II... another Blizzard classic.

I am a bit confused with WoW now... is it a reboot of Warcraft or an extension.. Coz I remember a happy ending in the end of Warcraft 3.

It's weird from a StarCraft thread you turned it into a WarCraft anyways I remeber back in 1999 I read in a game magazine that there was a StarCraft movie in the works they even had Natascha Henstrige to play Kerrigan but obviously that production failed. I dont know if you read any of the books based on the Blizzard games there were 3 StarCraft books couple of Diablo and a lot about WarCraft(the one about Trall was probably the best though) anyways the first StarCraft book was called Liberty's Crusade it was awesome couse' it tells the story of the original StarCraft. It's not that hard you have a alredy told story just someone has to write a script and a studio to produce it and voiala
