MoFo Fantasy Football - Week 6

Tools

I feel very good about this week.

If anybodys interested in Elizabeth Hasselbecks sisters husband I kicked him to the curb.

I am half agony, half hope.
I'm evenly matched this week and am feeling hopeful. I need a win.

Hasslebeck is most likely out this week. Our (when I say our I mean my home team Seattle Seahawks our) backup is also hurt so everyone should make a run for Charlie Frye... I can't even type that with a straight face much less think it. But for anyone needing an emergency start this week you could probably do worse. Probably.

Also just an FYI Tongo its Matt's brother that is banging little Lizzy not Matt. If anyone cares.

I'm a little torn again, although these are all good problems to have. Hasslebeck is out so do I go with my bench player Julius Jones thinking that he'll have a big day against a piss poor Green Bay team at home? I just ain't feeling it, Green Bay will stack the box and Make Charlie Frye beat them. I'm going to have to stay with my meat and potatoes dudes and hope for the best.

Turner has been excellent at home so far but this week will be his first real test against Chicago.

Dman, I love Football!

With Ben on a bye, I've been struggling with a single decision all week long: do I keep/startstart Matt Schaub, or Matt Cassel? So many pros and cons.

Schaub: I'd rather have him for the rest of the year. He's owned in more leagues. He's going up against Miami. The Texans aren't going to be looking at going to his backup again anytime soon unless they have to. BUT...he was out last week. And by playing Slaton, too, I'm putting a lot of eggs in the Houston basket this week.

Cassel: going up against the truly terrible San Diego pass defense, and is still on a good team with some great targets. Had a good game last week, too. BUT...he's still quite an unknown, and a lot of people expected SD to be a lot better than this defensively, so it might be a bit of a fluke.

I held onto Schaub all week long, but went with Cassel about 15 minutes ago. Very tough call; we'll see how it turns out.

Also struggled with whether or not to start Addai, who's up against Baltimore's defense. My potential replacement was Fred Taylor, though, and Addai is still as likely as not to punch a TD in from the 1, so I had to start him anyway.

By the by, the fact that I'm relying on a backup QB this week is pretty ominous, what with me playing Bobby. Bobby's got Romo, who every fantasy expert expects to have a huge week against Arizona.

I lucked out (though I'm not happy about it) with Lee Evans though; Bobby's starting him, even though he's on a bye this week. I emailed him about it a few days ago, but I think he's probably pretty busy these days. Here's hoping that, if I win, I win by enough for it not to matter. Wouldn't want to win because of something like that.

Bad news Yods, Addai just went out and it appears will not return... Sorry to be the first to tell you if you don't know already.

Btw, I think your Cassel move will be a good one.

Yeah, I had the Indy-Baltimore game on in the background and heard Addai was out. Slaton has a pretty mediocre first half, too, and Calvin Johnson has just one catch. Toss in the fact that Carolina's given up 17 first-half points and has no sacks or turnovers, and I could have a rough time of it.

But yeah, Schaub threw two picks right away and has just 4.4 points in the first half, so the switch to Cassel will probably end up being the right call. Can't say I like my overally chances right now, though.

We'll see, I got a feeling Dallas isn't going to have as big a day as the so-called experts think. Ideally for me would be 3 Barber TD's and everyone else can stink it up. So for your sake let's hope so, Eh?

Meh. I went to pickup Rhodes as a handcuff, but wasn't sure about the rules with roster spots and the like during games, so I hesitated, and Rick beat me to it. So it's pretty important that Addai's injury not last beyond this week...

Possible, but 7 of his 9 starters are already in the 4th quarter, and his biggest scorer (Manning) isn't likely to throw another pass. So even if he breaks 100 as the 1 PM games end, he'll have just Gore and Scobee the rest of the way, making even 140 a long shot.

Always funny to look at the scoreboard and see such wildly different scores. Bobby and I have only combined for 28.6 points so far, but most of our big names are playing at 4 or later.

Dammit! I made a statistical move and subbed Delhomme for O'Sullivan because he's had huge success against them in the past. Not working out.

I could be in some trouble here. I'm sure everyone feels sorry for me.

Might have spoken too soon about Schaub...after throwing two INTs right off the bat, he's come roaring back and has put up almost 27 points. D'oh. That'll be hard for Cassel to match, though if he gets 18-20 I'll still be awfully pleased.

EDIT: beat me to it. Gah. Real happy for him, though; the Texans are a lot better than their record has indicated.

Some fun finishes in the games today!
