Little floppy, hoppy, bunnies!
I'm reading " Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas " super good even if I've seen the movie a hundred times.

Has anyone read Cloud Atlas? If so, I'm wondering if I can read each section in their entirety instead of the way it is in the book, all fragmented. Is that an integral part of the experience or?

The Adventure Starts Here!
I'm reading Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade (Diana Gabaldon), and Mistress of the Art of Death (Ariana Franklin).

Plus the usual assortment of books that are started but feel more like they're "on deck" till I finish these other three.

I just finished a brilliant book by Thomas Glavinic called Night Work. The review of this book instantly drew me to send away for it and I wasn't disappointed. The Austrian writer Glavinic has writtem a novel that, late at night made my heart beat faster and has given me a few nightmares and a lot of thought.
It's about Jonas, an ordinary bloke living in Vienna waking up one morning to find that all human beings and all animals have disappeared, although the city's infrastructure remains intact. His search for life and his increasing feelings of isolation and loneliness not to mention his shift off into his dark psychological inner self while asleep, takes you way off the norm - no sci-fi or horror answers here but one man's struggle with his reality.

This will sadly most likely be the last Bob Lee Swagger book.

The series starts with the brilliant Point of Impact to be followed by Black Light and then with what I thought was going to be the last one Time to Hunt. I was very happily surprised to see Hunter did another Swagger book, even though he continues to age the hero and now Bob Lee is in his sixties and most likely will not be in another book. Still though I lapped it up and all in all it was a pretty decent read.

Well I've read it and can't say I understand what exactly bored you about this book (Cloud Atlas), it's one of the most exciting and clever books I've ever read. And to answer my own question, it's best to read it the way it was written. I only asked it because I'd just finished reading Nabokov's Pale fire, which did require quite a bit of skipping and backtracking.

The Adventure Starts Here!
Finished this over the weekend. Loved it!

Now I'm back to Pride and Prejudice ... and also a book called The Little Book by Selden Edwards, which looks fascinating!

Basically just awesome. Full of intrigue, suspense, information regarding military craft, structure, and politics, espionage, drinking, sex, action, and kick-ass dialogue. A must read for fans of Griffin or fans of the genre in general.
