New Television Shows

Did anyone watch The Black Donnellys last nite? I personally loved the show, I think it has a lot of potential to be a great running show. Did anyone else catch this show? Or catch any cool new tv shows?

The show built slowly, but the ending was really good.

I opted out on that one, having had my fill of this type of fare for a while. Seems to be getting some good comments here on the boards, so I will give it a go, if I happen to catch it next time...

I agree, the twist at the end was my favorite part. I think it was a really good way to set things off for the pilot episode.

Sedai, I love Dirt! I wish I got Showtime so I could watch Dexter, I've heard great things about it. Guess i'll have to catch that one on DVD...

Heh. yeah, I don't have it (Showtime), myself. I just show up on a friend's doorstep to watch...

Did you not get fed up with Dexter Sedai? I stopped at about ep 10 even tho i quite enjoyed the earlier episodes.

I have only seen a few episodes, so, I haven't had a chance to get fed up with it, yet...

What turned you off from it after a while?

I watched the first episode of The Nine and I enjoyed it. Then I forgot to watch it the next week. So then when I tried to watch it the 3rd week, I gave up because I was lost. Anyway, I will probably catch it on dvd when it comes out...if it makes it to dvd.

I am still full throttle, head first into last years big debut show, Prison Break. So this would be the newest show I am really into....if we can rewind a year.

I actually can't remember, which im sure says something about the show. The thread would probably remind me, i think the episodes became too formulaic and the support characters cliched, and when i worked out the what the final conclusion they were building towards was, i lost most interest.

Oh, right. I think I remember Holden saying the same thing about the show. A certain mystery (ice cream truck killer maybe) had him enthralled, but then once it was resolved....

I think I was the only one who didn't lose interest in Dexter as it went on. It definitely loses almost all of the intensity of the first few episodes, but the acting and the character of Dex alone was enough to keep bringing me back.

I'll stick around for Season 2.

As for other new shows - new meaning they premiered sometime after last fall - Heroes has grown on me. I really didn't like the first two or three episodes, but they have certainly ironed out many of the kinks and brought a lot more dimensions to what started completely 2D.
