Top 10 Films of 2006
Yes, it is too early. For me, anyway.
There is still a bunch of stuff I want to see that will get NY and LA openings for Awards qualification but won't open wider until January or even February. I usually make my final list in mid February or so.

It's hard for me, with the "Top 10", but definitely the number 1 movie of the entire year has to be Blood Diamond with a very very close race with The Departed.
I'm sorry though, but Borat is not even worth being considered at least in the top 50 of 2006...let alone the top 10.

Not got a particular order but the top 4 of the year so far would be between Casino Royale, Borat, The Departed and The Hills Have Eyes

I think my number one would have to be The New World. Yeah, it's a 2005 film, but it was released here in the UK in January 2006, and it was better than everything else I saw this year. Actually, it might be Pan's Labyrinth. Those are my top two, I'm undecided which is better.

Ok, I still haven't seen a lot of the bigger films of this year (Letters From Iwo Jima, The Queen, Half Nelson, United 93 to name a few) so from what I have seen, this is my unofficial list. 4- Little Miss Sunshine
5- The Illusionist
6- World Trade Center
7- Flags of Our Fathers

Superman Returns (Singer)
The Descent (Marshall)
Brick (Johnson)
A Scanner Darkly (Linklater)

What the hell was I on last night. i must have just been too freaking tired. I meant to say Batman Begins. LOL. Thank you for the correction.
The next Batman might be awesome with heath Ledger playing the Joker but more with a darker side as opposed to the 1st batman.

I'm having a hard time remembering uniformly great, brand new movies that I saw this year. While that didn't stop me in the past, I think I'll make it a resolution to not make a compromised list and settle for decent flicks like Casino Royale and Scanner Darkly.
So for now my list consists of Art School Confidential. Look for a complete list from me sometime in 2009!
Edit: oh yeah, there was The New World, but technically that was 2005.
