Very happy to see that Flow and Vengeance Most Fowl made it. They're #3 and #4 on my top ten of last year, respectively. I'd encourage everyone to see them.

Flow is also nominated for best international feature and is only the second nominee in history in that category with no dialogue (the other is Algeria's Le Bal from 1982). Neat bit of trivia.

The Wild Robot

Flow is my favorite by miles -- but I don't know about Oscar voters and animated features. They'll nominate things like The Triplets of Belleville or I Lost My Body, but they won't give 'em the win, they go safe. And the only non-English language films they've awarded came from Miyazaki - but maybe since there's no language and theirs a cute cat and other animals, they'll go for it.

But yeah, Wild Robot is more their speed, which was okay, a little too sappy for my blood, but alright. On the other end of that, Snail is way too dark and depressing, a win would surprise me.

Inside Out is another I thought was okay, but far lesser than the first, I hope it doesn't win. And while I enjoyed the Wallace & Gromit, a piece from this series won back in 2005, so that's another I'd rather not see win.

So - Flow is what I want and has generated enough positive buzz to give me hope, but Wild Robot is what traditionally appeals to the voters. I think those are your leaders.

Pretty predictable nominees this season.

Trying Real Hard To Be The Shepherd
Watched Flow last night so I have finally seen all of a category. Memoir Of A Snail by far my favorite, but I think Wild Robot will win. Good year for animation. I know the Academy considers Robot Dreams 2024, but I put it with this group as well.

I loved Flow but the Academy will likely give it to the one where the animals talk. They're all decent movies though.
