Trying Real Hard To Be The Shepherd
Already read it, does not make Pulp Fiction a great movie.
I can't disagree because it certainly didn't make Clerks one.

Trying Real Hard To Be The Shepherd
Why do we start these back and forths, they could go on forever...and Tarantino would still kick Smith's ass. See what I did there.

Gangster Rap is Shakespeare for the Future
I actually don't remember much from it other than it was really boring and I didn't really like the characters (if Frank Sinatra, my favorite singer of all time is in a movie and I don't like him in it, that's a problem.) and the awful ending.
Yeah, I figured it was pretty trite and situational

Frank's my favorite singer too. I've liked him in all the movies I've seen. I don't remember if I seen Some Came Running or not.

Still Doesn't mean Tarantino is a good filmmaker. At least from my curmudgeonly standpoint.
Yeah, you're right...He's not.

Might as well explain why I don't like some of these films a little better as my pervious posts explaining why weren't that well written or explained. If someone wants a little more explanation, I'll be more than welcomed to.

Leave Her To Heaven (Contains major spoilers. The spoiler bracket thing wasn't working for me for some reason.)

Cornel Wilde marries Gene Tierney but it turns out she's crazy! She let's Cornel's brother drown, falls down the stairs so her baby would be aborted and kills herself blaming it on Cornel.

The main reason why I don't like this movie is I find the situation pretty boring and the fact there's little suspense. This is a film noir right? And they have suspense based on what we know and/or don't know? Knowing what could happen can be a good thing like the Cymbal clash in The Man Who Knew Too Much but not knowing what could is also good like in Suspicion. But a film like this I think it would be better if we didn't know for a fact if Tierney was crazy or not. That way there could be a little more drama throughout the film and, for me at least, enjoyment. Suspicion had a similar plot to LHTH but a much better experience

(Apologies if I get some of the following facts wrong). Joan Fontaine falls in love with Cary Grant because because he's Cary Grant. After their marriage Fontaine gets a suspicion that Cary might want to kill her because he'll get a lot of money if she dies. Throughout the movie, there comes along evidence thats supports the fact Cary does want to kill her while there is also evidence to support he doesn't. We have no idea what Cary's plan was until the last three minutes. If we knew from the half way point what Cary wanted to do, the film wouldn't be enjoyable. This makes Suspicion a great movie in my opinion while Leave Her To Heaven isn't one.

Chinatown

I personally didn't like or understand the ending. What does "Forget it, Jake, it's Chinatown." even mean? Someone said earlier this is a movie I need to watch twice to better understand. I think that might be the case (for this movie and LHTH) but as of today, I don't like it.

Grand Budapest Hotel

I didn't find the film funny at all and the plot and characters were all over the place. Here are the two biggest problems I have with the movie that I remember from watching it about a month ago.

1. There's a scene where they threw Jeff Goldblum's cat out of the window. Because animal cruelty is funny! Well, it could have been funny if there was a cartoon sound effect, a Tom scream, or something like that but the way its executed I don't find it funny.
2. About half way through, Gustave escapes jail and meets up with Zero. Gustave asks Zero for fake nose/glasses sets. Zero says he didn't bring them. Gustave then precedes to yell at Zero and Zero gives us his tragic backstory and Gustave apologizes BECAUSE of the backstory.

I have several problems with this scene.
One-Why didn't Zero tell Gustave this story earlier? They knew each other for several months so why didn't told him about it? One can argue that Zero didn't want to talk about in the first place but I don't think most people do this after one yells at them.
Two-Gustave apologizes to Zero not because of what he said but because of Zero's backstory. I might have missed something but that's what it sounded like. He apologized to him because of his backstory. If Zero never had a tragic backstory, Gustave might have not regretted what he said. I don't think this is a character I like.
Three-COPS ARE GOING TO CAPTURE THEM! Why are they just standing there talking? They do this another time in the film I think too WHERE THERE ARE SNIPERS NEARBY!
Four-Gustave asks Zero for fake nose/glasses things at the beginning of the conversation. To improve this scene, here's what I'd do to make it funnier.

Gustave-Zero can I have those fake nose/glasses things you brought with us?
Zero-Sorry but I couldn't find them.
Gustave-How can we escape without fake nose/glasses things?
Zero-I'm sorry. All I could find were these red clown noses.
Gustave-Ugh! These will have to do. Thanks anyway Zero
Zero-No Problem.
They leave.

Christmas Story
There's a lot to say about this horrible movie but I'll keep it short. Everyone in this movie is a horrible person and its completely mean spirited. For example, when Ralphie's mom demands where he learned the word f***, Ralphie tells his mom he learned it from his best friend so his dad (where he really found about it) doesn't get in trouble. The mom calls Ralphie's best friend's mom and when Ralphie's mom tells her about the f word, she screams in agony. Is this suppose to be funny? I think its horrible. Also while Ralphie is punching the s*** out of the bully, Ralphie's mom comes along to take Ralphie off of the bully WITHOUT HELPING THE BULLY WHO HAS BLOOD ALL OVER HIS FACE! What kind of person would do that?

American Hustle

A movie about people arguing over plot I don't care about.

Last Picture Show

For me at least, it seemed like the movie favored sex over story. What I mean by that is the sex was more interesting then the story. I'm probably missing something but I don't really see how this is a coming of age story and not porn.
PS-Does this mean I'll hate Game of Thrones as well?

Casino Royale (Daniel Craig James Bond Films)

Daniel Craig is a bad actor and the films (mostly Skyfall) have giant plot holes.

Some Came Running

From what I remember, most of the movie was about Frank, Dean and Shirley MacLaine sitting around doing nothing that interested me until the ending where something bad happens.

My earlier review of this movie made it sound like I hated because Frank didn't sing in it. Yes that is a minor problem I have with the film but Frank didn't sing in the original Ocean's Eleven either and I do like that movie. I do apologize for making it unclear earlier.

My Neighbor Totoro (I have only seen the English dub so if some of these problems weren't present in the original Japanese, please let me know.)

I said I didn't like the characters. I'll go into a little more detail why I don't

Kanta?-I don't know if this is that one boy's name but I didn't like him. I thought it was rude of him to give Satsuki and Mei his umbrella without to them. He didn't talk that much throughout the whole movie actually

Mei-I don't know why but I found her annoying.
There's a scene halfway through the movie where Satsuki is at school and Mei comes along with the old woman. According to the old woman Mei wanted to be with Satsuki for reasons not explained (at least for the English dub). We see Mei draw pictures of Totoro in the class and afterwards, all of the students saw bye to her like they enjoyed her presence. I don't know what else Mei did in the school other than draw that made the other students like her?

Totoro-I don't find him charming or interesting.

I personally like to call these films "Movies I don't like others seem to do." If anyone wants me to explain why I don't like some of these films, I will be more than welcome to. I just don't have the time now because the list is large.

(Forward-This list isn't 100% for placement, but it is for my 1-10 rating though.)

Master of My Domain
Chicago... I don't get why basically everyone was nominated for acting and winning best picture. Sure that year there were a significant lack in masterpieces but that doesn't give an excuse for all that ballooned critiques.

- The Dark Knight Rises

- Django Unchained
These, so much. Honestly though for me you could add any of Tarantino's moderately recent films. It feels like he made a couple of cracking films (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs) then just gradually became more and more insane over the years, regressing to a 12 year old and nobody tried to pull him back to reality.

A mate of mine is completely mental and thinks that Kill Bill is his best work. You just can't reason with people like that.

The Dark Knight Rises, totally agree.
