I'm just trying to field a discussion here as a way to discover new animated movied I may have overlooked. I just finished watching Frozen today for the first time and it left me feeling a little nostalgic because Frozen was able to connect with me the way Lion King did 20 years ago, and the way Up, Wall-E, and Finding Nemo have been able to do after that.

Anyways post your top 10 favorite animated films of all time also an animated film you thought was overrated. Here's my list:

Most overrated: Spirited Away (I thought the animated was great, but the story was not moving or compelling, it was just weird)

Most overrated? I might say, Toy Story, given it was ranked 5th place in the Sign and Sound poll among animations, right behind Spirited Away and Tale of Tales and tied with Princess Mononoke, vastly superior films IMO. I rate it as

-, it's a well made comedy film but nothing really special overall.

Obviously Akira is the most overrated animated movie ever. I know it barely needs mentioning but you know, someone's gotta say it.

But seriously (at least recently) overrated: Wreck-it Ralph since is got some pretty high praise.

G, How can you say Spirited Away is 10 times better than anything on my list when even you ranked Grave of the Fireflies higher than it in your OWN list

Most of the Pixar's get an honorable mention.

Overrated: I don't know, maybe Waking Life. Not a bad flick, just annoyed at how my fellow students praised it. But that was close to a decade ago, so who knows. Time may tell.

Oh and E- I think you'd do yourself a favor to watch Spirited Away again, whenever you are in the mood. The weirdness can be overwhelming, I understand, but to say that you were neither moved nor compelled means you just need to watch it again. Pretend you're seven years old if it helps.
