Yep, I have plenty of time on my hands now that summer has started, TPAM.
Harry Lime

TPAM is heading into grade 10 or 11?
MovieMan8877445
06-13-09, 02:57 AM
10th grade, TPAM.
Harry Lime
06-13-09, 03:04 AM
High School started in grade 10 where I grew up, I take it that it's the 9th grade where TPAM lives.
Iroquois

TPAM is too old to remember high school.
MovieMan8877445

TPAM isn't.
Iroquois

True, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I do remember, though.
TPAM still remembers, I bet.

TPAM's #5 favorite movie is one of the funniest movies there is.
TPAM, I love the Abyss also :yup: in fact may watch it tonight :yup:
Harry Lime
06-13-09, 10:05 PM
TPAM's #2 favourite movie isn't slacking in the laughs department either.
Iroquois
06-13-09, 10:31 PM
Most of TPAM's movies aren't comedies - the only real exception is #5.
Harry Lime
06-13-09, 10:36 PM
Great comedies are hard to come by, TPAM.
Iroquois
06-14-09, 08:24 AM
Don't I know it, TPAM.
TPAM favorite movie list reminded me to put JAWS in mine. I took out Highlander.
Iroquois
06-14-09, 10:35 AM
Good choice. Highlander is an alright piece of 80s fantasy, but it pales in every conceivable way next to Jaws.

Harry Lime

Has TPAM ever been experienced?
Hey Joe, I've only been experienced in a fog of purple haze, which hasn't happened too often because it puts me in a state of manic depression and makes me feel as though I don't live today. It makes me trip, and every time I've been experienced, the wind cries Mary, a foxy lady who causes love or confusion and makes me think 'may this be love?'. As
I come down from my trip I feel as though I'm on fire, shooting down to Earth on the third stone from the sun.

Harry Lime
06-15-09, 01:38 AM
Imagine seeing Jimi live at Woodstock, man that would've been amazing. TPAM.
Yeah, but I would rather imagine seeing Alvin Lee and Ten Years After live at Woodstock. Best damn performance there!

06-15-09, 02:28 AM
All Along The Watchtower is still my favorite from Jimi, TPAM.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 02:32 AM
What about the Altamont Free Concert, TPATPAM?
Does TPAM know that All Along the Watchtower was written by Bob Dylan? And the three verses are actually reversed?
honeykid
06-15-09, 02:40 AM
I don't know if TPATPAM knew that, but I did. I think Jimi's great, to answer your earlier question.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 02:42 AM
TPAM knows what's up.
Yes TPAM. Didn't Stevie Ray Vaughan do a cover?
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 02:54 AM
A cover of? TPAM.
I was thinking of Little Wing, TPAM.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 02:58 AM
All Along the Watchtower has been covered so many times, maybe he did one too. Does TPAM know what The Beatles considered to be their favourite cover of one of their songs?
Mother Natures Son right TPAM?
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 03:17 AM
I remember reading it was Joe Cocker's version of With a Little Help from My Friends, TPAM.
The only Beatles cover I prefer over the original is "Across the Universe" by Fiona Apple, TPAM.

Iroquois
06-15-09, 10:46 AM
That's definitely a possibility. I don't really make much time for TV shows nowadays.
fair enough dude, but somethime in the future you should make time to check it out :yup:
Iroquois
06-15-09, 11:06 AM
I may do that.
Awesome mate I have only recently got into it myself as my brother-in-law is a huge fan and so am I know as ive seen all 4 series.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 08:25 PM
TPAM hasn't been around as much lately.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 08:30 PM
So, did TPAM like the Romanian film he watched recently?
I don't know, TPAM, I didn't really see the point. I mean I understand it's showing a slice of history, and it was damn realistic as ****, but I already knew that kind of stuff happened, I didn't really need to sit and watch it for 2 hours.
Also, the family dinner scene was LONG and POINTLESS.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 08:47 PM
I have to disagree with TPAM in regards to a certain film.
Needless to say TPAM I was sucked into it the entire time (except the stupid family dinner scene), and it was so goddurn realistic.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 08:55 PM
I watched this excellent Japanese film called Fires on the Plain earlier today, I'd recommend it to TPAM.
Sweet I will check it out TPAM.

TPAM voted for Kurosawa, good show!
Nothing Scorsese has done comes close to Ikiru, TPAM.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 10:20 PM
I'm a big fan of Marty, but if I take a look at both of their filmographies Kurosawa's is more consistent. TPAM.
I don't care for Marty, I like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull and that's about it, from what I've seen TPAM.
Iroquois
06-15-09, 10:24 PM
TPAM doesn't care much for Scorsese. Shame.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 10:25 PM
What else has TPATPAM seen of his?
And yes TPAM, it is a bit of a shame.
Goodfellas and The Departed, TPAM.
Iroquois

At least TPAM is a Scorsese fan.
Harry Lime
06-15-09, 10:34 PM

TPAM sounds Canadian just now.
Iroquois
06-15-09, 11:14 PM
TPAM doesn't know what he's talking aboot.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 12:53 AM
Did TPAM figure out which film he was going to watch?
Iroquois
06-16-09, 12:55 AM
Nope, I couldn't make up my mind or peel myself away from the computer anyway, so I ran out of available time and didn't get to watch either. Sounds like a metaphor for life right there.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 12:57 AM
I just got Eraserhead from the library, a film I've put off way too long. But tonight I feel like watching a new release so I also grabbed We Own the Night. Has TPAM seen either?
Iroquois
06-16-09, 12:59 AM
I saw Eraserhead once about four or five years ago. I remember thinking it was the weirdest movie I'd ever seen. Not that it was a bad thing, though, if I had to give a rating I'd say about a 3.5.
I have not seen We Own the Night, though. Not really my kind of film.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 01:02 AM
Any film with Eva Mendes is my kind of film, TPAM.
Iroquois
06-16-09, 01:10 AM
I guess we differ on that, TPAM.
Eva Mendes is hot stuff TPAM.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 01:18 AM
TPAM has got that right!
Iroquois
06-16-09, 01:19 AM
True, but that doesn't necessarily mean I have to like it.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 01:23 AM
Well Ghost Rider, Once Upon a Time in Mexico and 2 Fast 2 Furious definitely weren't my kind of films, TPAM.
Hot Stuff is always good, but it's also the title of a Dom Deluise flick. Me? I feel generous giving Eraserhead 1.5, but I do give it a cult rating of 4 and I've seen it more than five times and at the theatre too. Big deal, French...
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 01:29 AM
1.5 from TPAM, 3.5 from Iro. Still need to see it as it's Lynch, I've also put off Inland Empire for way too long.
Iroquois
06-16-09, 01:36 AM
Mark would say that's a good thing, though. But he's old.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 01:39 AM
Ouch, TPAM.
Iroquois
06-16-09, 01:40 AM
It's okay, he knows I'm just playing.
...right, Mark?
TPAM Eraserhead is On Demand and I want to see it.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 01:53 AM
Does that mean TPAM is going to watch it?
Iroquois does get cut a crapload of slack from me because of his Cool User Name and the fact that his selective memory is better than most around here. I often wonder though if Iroquois knows jack about the Iroquois...
Yeah but not On Demand TPATPAM.
TPAM is a righteous dude.
Thank you TPAM. You musta read my review of that other righteous dude.
Yep TPAM it made me happy, and the one about the naked American man too.
So, TPAM, I don't want to sound too NEEDY, but do you have any questions for me about the last MoFo Podcast? (I hope so, but remember, I'm "not needy".)
Like what kind of questions TPAM? I'm still confused about the whole DVD changing some of the movie thing, but besides that I just thought it was cool to hear your thoughts about it. I never knew you've seen it over 100 times, that makes me pretty ambitious ha.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 02:33 AM
How much would TPAM have to spend to see it On Demand?
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 02:38 AM
Then why not watch it On Demand, TPAM?
I want to watch it in my den, where it's dark, TPAM. And I have Netflix.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 02:44 AM
Makes sense, TPAM.
I wonder who TPAM's fave Beatle is.
Well, TPAM, I don't think they changed the DVD. I just wished the movie was technically better.
I never even noticed those two things you mentioned TPAM but I haven't seen it as many times as you (obviously).
OK, well I'm going to go watch parts of both Conan and Letterman since they're starting here on the West Coast. See ya tomorrow, TPAM.
Harry Lime
06-16-09, 04:42 AM

I can't remember seeing it go this long since I joined up. What's new with TPAM?

Not much. Finished with university just in time to deal with work giving me more stuff to do. Whoopee.
What's new with TPAM?

06-18-09, 02:46 AM
I've been making my way through Miyazaki's films lately, it's up next.
TPAM claims we're too fast but he just beat me to the punch that time.
I love Miyazaki TPAM, I still have some more of his movies to watch though.
Spirited Away will remain in my top 10 forever.
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 02:52 AM
I'm not as big a fan of Miyazaki as TPAM, but I'd give Spirited Away 4.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 02:53 AM
Interesting claim, TPATPAM, especially since it seems that every few months you watch a movie that causes you to reconsider your Top 10.
And now TPAM beats me again.
"I'm getting too old for this s***."
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 02:57 AM
Movies aren't stupid. They fill us with romance and hatred and revenge fantasies. Lethal Weapon taught us that suicide is funny. And before Lethal Weapon 2, I didn't know there could be a bomb on my toilet and now I check every time!
I saw Spirited Away in theaters when it came out TPATPAM, and it hasn't left my top 10 since.
Also, Slumdog was the only film to make me really reconsider my top 10.
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 02:59 AM
I still haven't seen Slumdog.
TPAM probably won't like as much as me. I don't think anyone does, actually.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 03:01 AM
Not even the people who voted it Best Picture?
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 03:01 AM
I've seen some very positive reviews on this forum. But TPATPAM is right, I am kinda expecting a let down.
TPAM will be happy that he beat me to the post.
Yeah but I don't think...
Oh fine TPsAM, I'm not alone. I don't know haha.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 03:13 AM
TPAM doesn't know.
TPAM, the McDowell collage in the British thread took me an hour to make. Each pic is it's own individual file.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 03:55 AM
That's an impressive amount of effort. Must rep it.
Thank you TPAM. I gave up my movie night to do that.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 04:00 AM
Just an hour, though? How much of your night's been wasted, though?
What TPAM? It's 12 now, if I were to start a movie I'd fall asleep. 11 on the other hand, not so bad.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 04:07 AM
Damn, I guess I'm just used to late nights.
I wish I could stay up late, TPAM. I'm a late bird but I'm also an early bird, so the lack of sleep makes me unwillingly and unfortunately tired.
I'm watching Kubrick stuff on YouTube.
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 04:42 AM
TPAM needs to see If....
I know TPAM, I know.
TPAM I am shocked that Kubrick isn't winning Best Director thingy, it should be hands down I think.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 06:55 AM
Could it be because Kubrick simply isn't the Best Director?
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 07:24 AM
It would be: Kubrick simply isn't the most popular director on this forum.
Iroquois
06-18-09, 07:25 AM
TPAM understands the difference.
Harry Lime
06-18-09, 07:28 AM
