I was thinking of starting off with that one, or starting from the beginning and seeing how Tarr changed over the years, but Satantango looks so amazing that I have to see it first.

From what I hear about Tarr's films, they're not the most accessible, so starting of with Satantango which is 450 minutes long might not be the best idea.

I've seen it a more than 5 times and my passion for it is still as existent as it was the minute after I first saw it, TPAM. I welcome the day I stop loving it so much.

I realize it's crazy having such a recent and popular film so high up, I don't like that fact either. I just love the film.

It's just an objective assumption that with over a hundred years' worth of movie history (to say nothing of all the artistry and storytelling that preceded it), a film that came out as recently as last year can't accomplish anything quite as well as it was presumably already accomplished by an entirely different film years before. However, I will grant that the 1970s never had a film quite like WALL-E.
