I hope/imagine you guys know each other already if you're comfortable with this kinda backhanded compliment.
I like to believe Crumbsroom knows me well enough to know I had zero bad intentions with that comment.

Let's put it this way: I scanned the list looking to see where Shriek of the Mutilated placed and was shocked to not find it there.

EDIT: And by "shocked" I mean "disappointed"

A lot more respectable than I would imagine from you.
I couldn't help but be disappointed in myself.

It's generally when you give me a top 100 to fill out, that my worst inclinations appear to start shaking out all the nuts and bolts, and my list falls into total chaos.

My well-known dreadful taste is more than fair to openly mock, by both friends and foes. It is well deserved.

I got Blood For Dracula on there, to represent all of the unloved movie souls that didn't make the cut.

Shriek of the Mutilated might have just been a little too obnoxious. It could understandably had my entire list disqualified.

If I remember correctly, didn't Hollywood Cop used to be in your top 5?

I think in reviewing that, I included a fake top 5 that included it alongside of 2001 and Passion of Joan of Arc for the sake of reinforcing my hyperbole. Because, that's how I roll

I'm just bitter because the countdown completely ignored the Yeti subgenre. Don't mind me.

fake ballots for are turning up for 2001 Odyssey lol voter fraud I see, Shame on you

A system of cells interlinked
At last, here is my list, for better or for worse.

1 Chinatown
2 Blade Runner
3 Lawrence of Arabia
4 Braveheart
5 Goodfellas
6 Casablanca
7 Pulp Fiction
8 Excalibur
9 Raiders of the Lost Ark
10 Jaws
11 2001: A Space Odyssey
12 Unforgiven (1992)
13 The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
14 Alien
15 The Godfather
16 Back to the Future
17 Gravity
18 Vertigo
19 Fight Club
20 Life of Pi
21 Last of the Mohicans
22 Inception
23 Mulholland Drive
24 Rear Window
25 The Shining

A note on The Godfather. Obviously, it's technically a better movie than Fellowship of the Rings or Braveheart, but I made a concerted effort to bump stuff up ahead of it in hopes that it wouldn't top yet another list, which would be rather boring, IMO.

Looks like it worked!

@Yoda Have I missed you sharing your list?
You have not, just haven't done it yet. Here it is:

  1. 12 Angry Men
  2. Dial M For Murder
  3. UP
  4. The Princess Bride
  5. Gattaca
  6. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
  7. Pulp Fiction
  8. The Shawshank Redemption
  9. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
  10. Inglorious Basterds
  11. Raising Arizona
  12. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
  13. Babe
  14. North by Northwest
  15. Citizen Kane
  16. Se7en
  17. Duck Soup
  18. Unbreakable
  19. Casino
  20. The Silence of the Lambs
  21. The Apostle
  22. Chariots of Fire
  23. On the Waterfront
  24. L.A. Confidential
  25. The Impostors

As you can see, I decided to really mix the best/favorites thing, and definitely did a fair amount of strategic voting.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
Yoda didn't include any Star Wars films in his ballot. Cold.
I guess he thought it fair not to include any films he starred in.

Look, I'm not judging you - after all, I'm posting here myself, but maybe, just maybe, if you spent less time here and more time watching films, maybe, and I stress, maybe your taste would be of some value. Just a thought, ya know.

The Adventure Starts Here!
Ugh, you just showed me that somehow I'd also left Monty Python and the Holy Grail off my list! No more last-minute entries from me!

You asked for people's Top 25 so here's mine. In retrospect the only thing I'd change would be maybe switching out Badlands for A Clockwork Orange. That would also involve some rearranging of course.

7. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The Adventure Starts Here!
I love so much about your list (knowing you better than nearly everyone in this forum--IrishSansRed perhaps knows you better now)! I thought perhaps UP would be first, for one thing. And I love that you have Chariots of Fire on your list. I finally bought the DVD because sometimes I just want to watch it right now and can't find it streaming anywhere. (This is also why I bought The Elephant Man DVD. In fact, it's really the only reason I still buy DVDs: some things aren't readily available when you want/need to watch them.)

And you're making me realize (as a bunch of others have done since posting their lists) that I missed a few more on my own, notably a Marx Brothers movie, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (which never gets old), and The Princess Bride.

You have not, just haven't done it yet. Here it is:
