Let the night air cool you off
1. Cody Jinks - Somewhere in the Middle
- ditto to what @Captain Spaulding said

2. Nick Shoulders - Too Old to Dream
- I went from thinking that country music was basically dead to listening to Chris Stapleton to listening to Sturgill Simpson to Cody Jinks to finding this world of country music under the surface and seeing it grow even from that point has been awesome. Nick Shoulders is another example of country music being the best, most diverse, most interesting, and most captivating genre of music going.

3. Prince - Batdance
- If I had a trillion dollars and a time machine, one of the things I would do is go back to this time and commission a Prince lead Batman music film in the style of The Wall where I give Prince full control. Give me 90 minutes of this chaos.

4. Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
- I've never seen Ghostbusters. The line "bustin' makes me feel good" is the reason this song should be lauded.

5. Buzzcocks - Fiction Romance
- I enjoy the mix of pop and punk here, it's a fun, head bobbing time.

6. Blues Saraceno - Judgement Day
- This feels like the sort of song that will get a pop out of me the first time I hear it, but maybe not stick around for the long haul. I did enjoy listening to it and following the story, so kudos for that.

7. Lionel Richie - Running With the Night
- It was a different time.

8. Wardell - Opossum
- Sounds like an okay indie song from when I was in high school. This came out 3 years after I graduated, so I'm guessing the Spielberg kids are about the same age as me? Quick google search. Sasha was born in 90, Theo in 88, I was born in 91, sounds about right.

9. buck-tick - dress
- Maybe I'll find some Japanese rock other than Les Rallizes Denudes that I'll like.

10. Band of Skulls - Wanderluster
- it's fine

11. Kermit the Frog - Rainbow Connection
- I feel like this song would probably be more effective for people who aren't as dead inside as myself.

12. Weezer - Island In The Sun
- So, embarrassing story time: when I was a teenager, I would download porn and hide it in a folder titled "Weezer - Blue Album" because I knew nobody would look in there. I'm thankful I don't have to share a computer anymore. Also, man, I was a little degenerate.

01: Blues Saraceno - Judgement Day
02: buck-tick - dress
03: Buzzcocks - Fiction Romance
04: Wardell - Opossum
05: Cody Jinks - Somewhere in the Middle
06: Band of Skulls - Wanderluster
07: Weezer - Island In The Sun
08: Lionel Richie - Running with the Night
09: Nick Shoulders - Too Old to Dream
10: Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
11: Kermit the Frog - Rainbow Connection
12: Prince - Batdance

The most meh round for me this far.

R5:
Surprisingly, this soundtrack has a few great and varied song options. I thought it would be difficult to pick one of three serious contenders, but given the recent events of the week it seems only appropriate to bring this nom to the forefront. The 1985 John Cusack teen rom/com, Better Off Dead might have been my first introduction to Cusack. One of my favorite flicks of his, this one laid the foundation for my current sense of humor. Blame Savage Steve Holland for that, I guess. Hm... I'm drifting off point. In honor of the late, great, Mr. Eddie Van Halen, my round 5 nom is....

Van Halen - Everybody Wants Some
