Have you guys ever heard of the"Child Care Action Project: Movie Analysis for Parents"? It is a Christian website that informs parents about what BAD to watch for in recent movies.
That's not so bad, you think, why not?
Well, you might think differently after you gaze through the site a bit. But before you go there let me tell you that few film seem innocent by their standards.
On Disney's Atlantis, they warn, contains "a tale of a homosexual kiss", "adults in underwater," and female sensuality."
Also, Planet of the Apes includes "beatings by animals", "smoking, what appears to be narcotics," and an offense to God--entire show built on evolution."
I've included this review of Santa Clause 2, lifted directly from the site:
FINDINGS / SCORING:
Wanton Violence/Crime (W):
young teens breaking and entering into high school to vandalize
vandalism (additional)
mischief for revenge
imprisonment of elves (children)
high altitude risk-taking
Impudence/Hate (I)(1):
name-calling
teen arrogance at father, twice
lies to protect secrecy
flatulence
Sex/Homosexuality (S):
plastic form of nude human posterior
anatomical reference
Drugs/Alcohol (D):
none noted
Offense to God (O)(2):
Christmas without Jesus
Murder/Suicide (M)(3):
none noted
Come on guys, tell me what you think. Is this a good way to teach children about sex? Is there a parent in the world that would actually not let their children go see a movie because there were adults underwater? And how do you think this "shyness" toward sex will affect them later on in Life?
Click this site, scroll down to where it says "Now Playing", and pick a movie. Some may laugh, but this is what some parents use as a guidline: By the way, you should read what they have to say about "Lord of the Rings"
