Homosexuality in Disney's Atlantis?

Tools

My life isn't written very well.
Have you guys ever heard of the"Child Care Action Project: Movie Analysis for Parents"? It is a Christian website that informs parents about what BAD to watch for in recent movies.

That's not so bad, you think, why not?

Well, you might think differently after you gaze through the site a bit. But before you go there let me tell you that few film seem innocent by their standards.
On Disney's Atlantis, they warn, contains "a tale of a homosexual kiss", "adults in underwater," and female sensuality."

Also, Planet of the Apes includes "beatings by animals", "smoking, what appears to be narcotics," and an offense to God--entire show built on evolution."

I've included this review of Santa Clause 2, lifted directly from the site:

FINDINGS / SCORING:

Wanton Violence/Crime (W):

young teens breaking and entering into high school to vandalize
vandalism (additional)
mischief for revenge
imprisonment of elves (children)
high altitude risk-taking

Impudence/Hate (I)(1):

name-calling
teen arrogance at father, twice
lies to protect secrecy
flatulence

Sex/Homosexuality (S):

plastic form of nude human posterior
anatomical reference

Drugs/Alcohol (D):

none noted

Offense to God (O)(2):

Christmas without Jesus

Murder/Suicide (M)(3):

none noted

Come on guys, tell me what you think. Is this a good way to teach children about sex? Is there a parent in the world that would actually not let their children go see a movie because there were adults underwater? And how do you think this "shyness" toward sex will affect them later on in Life?

Click this site, scroll down to where it says "Now Playing", and pick a movie. Some may laugh, but this is what some parents use as a guidline: By the way, you should read what they have to say about "Lord of the Rings"

CapAlert...... hehehehe.... I do know this site. And, I didn't see Atlantis, so I don't know. If I wanna see a movie about homosexuality, I don't turn to Disney movies. Well, maybe I'll turn to Hercules.

They should do a remake of Cinderella -- called Cinderodney -- about a poor male servent with two wicked twinky brothers and a dominatrix daddy -- who is turned into a female for the prince's ball with the help of his fairy godmother, a drag queen named Stella. He/she goes to the ball (held at a gay club) and dances with the gay prince until midnight, when he turns back into a man. His dress falls off while running down the steps of the club, so he has to run home naked. The next day, the prince arrives and makes Cinderodney try on the dress. They get married in the state of Vermont and live happily ever after.

I’ve run into this site before too… the first time I saw it on the very first page they had....

WE NEED YOUR HELP - SEND FUNDS TO………………..

And after checking the site out the only thing I could conclude was that they wanted everyone else to pay for them to watch movies and hey, if they have some left over… I’m sure they will find something to spend it on… Tammy Faye did…

Oh, and btw, they target senior citizens for funds….

I'm not old, you're just 12.
That site is hilarious. They rate movies without taking context into consideration. I laugh everytime I read their reviews.

I was bored, so I spent awhile looking through his list of rated movies. Over 650 in all, The only movies to get perfect scores (100) were Mary Poppins and a religious movie I had never heard of. The two lowest scored movies were Idle Hands and Dogma (I knew they'de hate Dogma). Here is a quote from another review.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (R) -- WARNING! This analysis is blunt. South Park is another movie straight from the smoking pits of Hell.

Slay, that quote is just...just...

Thanks!

So Slay, please tell me what it is, in your opinion, that this site is trying to accomplish. I'm interested in hearing what your opinion is. I think you have children, am I wrong?

I hate things like that. It is so damned smug and arrogant.

Does Chris run it?

Well yeah, them, and also the child molesting priests. Lets not forget about those winners.

Someone should send these people and e-mail and act interested in their ratings etc. and see what they say… I wouldn’t exactly know how to word it… r66 you’re pretty good with words…

Sites like this crack me up. I might send them a fake email, pretending to be just like them and see how many times they can unnintentionally make me laugh, if they respond.

Edit: Oops. I didn't read the last message. Good idea, Caitlyn!

i found this for the wild thornberries movie.

Sex/Homosexuality (S):

camera angle

i can only imagine what their sick twisted christian priest-boy loving minds construed a camera angle into...

this movie has some good ones. punk dress, flatulence, wedgie humor, crude monkey display?!, and favoring of darwinism.

"HOW DARE YOU BELIEVE IN SCIENCE YOUNG MAN! NOW TAKE OFF THOSE BLASPHEMOUS PUNK CLOTHES AND COME DOWN STAIRS AND WATCH THE POWER HOUR WITH YOUR MOM AND I. WHAT IN GODS NAME...DID YOU JUST FART! THATS IT, YOU ARE NO LONGER A SON OF MINE! PACK YOUR THINGS AND GET OUT."

sorry, i'm rambling. check out the cell review for some really good ones too.

thanks to whomever for the link. the site is the best.

actually if you noticed...they were all catholic

You say tomatoe, I say tom-ah-toe.

It's a little kooky, but it doesn't seem half as bad as ya'll are making out.

On Disney's Atlantis, they warn, contains "a tale of a homosexual kiss", "adults in underwater," and female sensuality."
I dunno about the homosexual kiss part (haven't seen the flick), and I can't think of a reason why "adults in underwater" would matter, but "female sensuality" makes perfect sense, and I'm hardly going to scold them for giving too much detail. The idea, remember, is to inform parents as to what their children will be seeing.

Also, Planet of the Apes includes "beatings by animals", "smoking, what appears to be narcotics," and an offense to God--entire show built on evolution."
This doesn't sound all that crazy.

And franlky, neither does the quote from the South Park review: I thought that was hilarious. If you ask me the quip was made over the very obvious fact that there was no way that film was going to do anything other than set off every single red flag they have.

How about Harry Potter?

Offense to God :

single use of God's name in vain and without the four letter expletive
still photo/painting subjects moving ???
claim of wizardry
levitation, repeatedly
magic to do chores, repair glasses, walk through bricks
living screaming baby-looking plant roots
screaming letter ???
impish pixies/creatures
magic to control (open, close, move), repeatedly
magic to assault (hit, slam, harm), repeatedly
vomiting slugs due to magic
moving stairs ???
shape shifting, repeatedly
talking of magic as a talent or profession
flying brooms
using witchcraft to save or rescue, repeatedly
magic to heal, repeatedly
evil voices from nowhere telling to kill, repeatedly
magic to disappear, repeatedly
apparitions, repeatedly
magic to talk to snake, control it
talking hat
book with blank pages that answers written questions
magic to transport to the past, repeatedly
incantations, repeatedly
much use of evil to do good

How is this offensive? It ain't real... it's fiction. Oh well.
