Juno-
A very, very, very quirky film. Perhaps at times to quirky for it's own good. The first twenty minutes have so many lines that just make me want to gag. After that though it clears up somewhat and becomes enjoyable.
The rest of the movie seems fine and very genuine in most of the emotions and the cast does a wonderful job. J.K. Simmons is very funny as the dad and Ellen Page does a good job portraying Juno. Cera's also good here,But this movie would have benefited from showing a little more of the Juno-Bleeker relationship because at the end I wasn't feeling it as much as I should have.
The cinematography and the music was good. But, the soundtrack could have used a little more variety. After the fifth Kimya Dawson song you really start to get annoyed. Also, for a girl whose big in to punk they sure don't use any punk songs on the whole soundtrack.
Overall,an enjoyable flick that might be worth seeing again,But not Oscar worthy(Then again alot of the movies that are up for Oscar's aren't Oscar worthy.)Like someone said before it's the little indy flick that could. Sometimes that's a good thing(interesting storyline dynamics)and sometimes that's a bad thing(Vomit inducing dialog.).
Side-Note:I went to see this in a small theater and I must have been the only young adult male there. There were like three old couples and a group of young girls. Man, I felt like a fish out of water.
