What would you do with the tape?

I could not disagree with you more. I wish I could have seen Jaws in the theaters. Even watching it on television, it absolutely terrified me. I still have panic attacks if I try to go into the ocean past my knees.

I want to be able to analyze every single movie I see and notice every single plot hole and inaccuracy in it. That said, Top Gun is way too easy, man. Do something like Vertigo or Se7en again.

Whoa, now that's a daunting challenge! Train wrecks like Vertigo and Se7en don't come along everyday!

But tell the truth, you saw the same problems in those movies that I did, right?

The title of the thread is ridiculous, I agree. There is no such thing as a movie that everyone hates. In truth, us cinephiles never really "hate" a movie. We can always find at least a few redeeming qualities. Sometimes, we have to try really hard. Stayin' Alive anyone?

Aye boy don't spit in my drink!
While I agree the thought of a movie EVERYONE hates is quite preposterous I really can't imagine anyone enjoying the unsanctioned sequels to the campy cult classic Sleepaway Camp.

I know a guy, they are out there. He also thinks that all the Psycho sequels are a blessing as well. There is truly no accounting for taste.

Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bright
whoa... dude!! c'mon Transformers should be winning picture of the year!! I can't believe it has been snubbed like that!!

OK, back to my regular reality (which still is a little off kilter)

Transformers was good for what it was intended to be... a popcorn flick, and I did like it for that...

And Jaws for a movie everyone hates? I don't think so, but I don't really think you were intending to say its one everyone hates, were you? Its just one you really didn't like.

I can't think of any movies that I have actually watched all the way through that really qualify for this distinction. Have there been movies that I saw that I personally can't stand, sure... plenty of them, but I am able to look at them critically and see what others might find worthwhile.

Amen. That is what separates "movie" lovers from "film" lovers. I probably have a hundred different ideas floating around in my head while I am viewing any given film. I like to try and cut to the core, which can sometimes be very frustrating and other times, impossible. Epic Movie comes to mind

Actually, some parts of Vertigo had been annoying me before I read your post, but Se7en? Nah. The only thing that had bothered me was the fact that Brad Pitt almost managed to ruin the movie with his bad acting. I liked his over-the-top performance in 12 Monkeys and Fight Club, but in this one, he made his character feel less complex than it really was.

Okay, here's a challenge, what problems could you possibly have with Full Metal Jacket?

Your reasoning, eloquence, and sentence structuring skills never fail to amaze me. I mean, what arguments could anyone use against "were (sic) gona (sic) need a bigger roll of tape"? I give up. You win, Meatwad.

I hate: Open Water - too boring Nailed - waste of time Hallowed Ground
