Disappointed that my latest Covid test is positive again even though the at-home test was negative.

Waiting on internist’s instructions as to what to do next.

Anyone else tested positive twice? If so, what did you do then?

Anyone know why some people get a PCR test (not me) & others a Covid test?
It was a PCR test on Friday that came back positive. (Now I know why they kept leaving dopey messages all weekend.)

Keep in mind, there are documented cases of people testing positive for up to 90 days after contracting COVID, but not being contagious or sick. It's rare, but it happens.
Exactly what my internist’s tech told me this morning. She’s gonna get back to me with directions when she’s touched base with my doctor. (Dumbass at-home test clearly showing negative.)

Since it was the owner of my company that ran into that, my company's policy has been "You can come back to work as long as you aren't showing symptoms, and you are 5-7 days out from your initial positive test."

Thanks. I feel very radioactive.

Had my Covid & flu shots yesterday so glad to get that done. Pharmacist with my permission did both shots in my left arm. About 8 hours later it felt sore, but no worse than when I’ve had the shots singly. Right now it’s nothing.

Made the mistake of visiting the pharmacy on Halloween, which made for a jolly atmosphere, but I was anxious to get out of there. Appointments not taken at this place, but I was first in line at 10 a.m. Pharmacist was running late, but he did finally appear in his Gru outfit, nose & all. Nice man & he said he would let me know if a Covid booster appears one day.

i had both shots on monday in different arms. wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be, i hope this is the last covid vaccine that's needed.

I got both of my shots back in September, so I should be very well protected now.

Also picked up a huge box of Theraflu from Costco, just to be prepared (probably can't help catching a cold sometime over the winter months)

I got my flu shot last month but they wouldn’t give me the Covid shot because I had Covid in September. They said I have to wait until 90 days after the positive test so I won’t be able to get it until right before Christmas.

^ I don't think you have to wait here in the UK, nurses have never asked us if we have recently had covid before getting a new injection...

We last had covid in August and my parents had their boosters middle of October, so should be fine.

I doubt that it will be.

Didn’t you fill out paperwork first? I had 2 pages of questions to answer first, one of them being have I ever had COVID.

I haven't had any covid injections since the second vaccination we were all expected to have when it first started and even then no paperwork, they just asked to prove who I was, if I was a carer to anyone and told me about side effects.

As for now still no paperwork, they just make sure it's you, ask what arm you want the injection in and that's it...

I doubt that it will be.

you think the covid vaccine will be a yearly one

Trouble with a capitial 'T'
you think the covid vaccine will be a yearly one
I'm sure it will be, Covid is a coronavirus that mutates easily, much like the cold virus does. I think it's a safe bet that every year there will be a flu shot and a Covid shot to get.

Just wondering... doesn't the flu shot have to be updated each year (I'm talking about the formula itself that makes up the vaccine) to try to address whatever the latest strain has mutated into?

At some point they may be able to combine the flu & Covid treatments into one inoculation since the flu vaccine itself is designed to address the latest "common flu" which may actually be several different strains that can be effected with a one-size-fits-all approach. (Or am I just bio-babbling?)

Absolutely. It’s free & I think yes, I might as well get the darn thing.

Absolutely. Both are free & one is in & out quickly so why not. When I have gotten the flu in the past I have been quite sick.

Wondering why I started both a coronavirus thread & a Covid thread?
