IIRC, Glenda Jackson's character was supposed to be somewhat older than Oliver Reed's character.

I didn't see it when it when it came out (most reviewers said it was crap) nor since, but In Praise of Older Women (1978), with a 28-year old Tom Berenger, might be what you are looking for.

After "Harold and Maude", my favorite is " Summer of '42" (1971).
