Actors/Actresses made for a certain genre

I wipe my ass with your feelings
You know what I'm talking about right? Actors/actresses made just for a specific genre. If they were shoved in this, they'd suck...but if they walked back to their "original" genre, they'd light it up? At least one or two names should rise up, right?

Well for me they go by Joe Pesci, Robert DeNiro, and Al Pacino. It's kind of hard to imagine these three in anything besides a gangster flick, or crime film. I mean if you threw them into a comedy, it might look good...but these guys actually got me to believe they're these hardass men straight out of the streets...seriously.

I don't know if its me, or if its you but at least a name should come up, right?

John Holmes, made for a certain genre, porn.

I think Ashley Judd was made for hard-core pornography. Least I wish she was.

I have to agree with you.

Her acting ability is about on a pornstar level.

Traci Lords is a better actress.

Its quite easy to mix this up with genres they are associated with or genres they specialise in rather than genres they are 'made' for.
For me:
Micheal Caine-British crime
Bruce Campbell-horror
most comedians-comedy
Arnie/Bruce Willis-action
Clint Eastwood-western
Elisha Cuthbert-porn

That maybe so, but I did think Joe Pesci was good in "My Cousin Vinny" and Robert De Niro was great as Rupert Pumpkin in "The King of Comedy"

Geez, Frank Farina's the Aussie football manager.

He's typecast in that, though.

Hugh Grant simply hasn't been in any thing but a romantic comedy, so I guess he's the king of limited ability. I don't agree with De Niro being strictly a mobster, he makes a great one, as everyone knows, but Taxi Driver? Raging Bull? The Deer Hunter? Some of his best work and not a gangster in sight. The same could be said for Pacino.

You will find little romantically comedic in Extreme Measures (1996), Restoration (1995), The Remains of the Day (1993), Bitter Moon (1992), Impromptu (1991), Lair of the White Worm (1988) or Maurice (1987).

....and An Awfully Big Adventure which proved to me that Grant can act beyond people's conceptions of him (given the chance).

Ok so I made a generalisation, I am sorry to have sinned. Pedantry is your area of service huh Holden? Obviously every single movie Hugh Grant has appeared in hasn't been a romantic comedy. Clint Eastwood: head honcho of the modern western. Has every movie he has ever appeared in been a western? No, but he is still the first name that springs to mind when the word 'western' is spoken. If what you are saying is that for an actor to be a genre actor every film they appear in has to be of that genre, then you are mistaken.
