It's been a long time since I watched Russian language movies but these are the 10 which I still have fond memories of, 6 of which are Tarkovsky and Kurosawa.

Oh yeah, Tale of Tales could be my #8 forgot about that. Soviet Winnie The Pooh as my #9! Don't think i can come up with a tenth though.

I didn't include shorts on my list, but Petrov would have two or three on my list. And I'd probably include Vini-Pukh, Tale of Tales and Hedgehog in the Fog too.

I have Andrei Rublev ready to go. I'm going to start it tonight. I am pretty excited. After that, I'll either hit up Ivan's Childhood, Zerkalo, or maybe try out a Sokurov film.

So Andrei Rublev... f*ck yeah. Five stars.

I don't necessarily have a top ten, but the following are the Russian films that immediately jump out of the top of my head.

And about Tarkovsky: I might be dealing with some recency bias, but I am starting to think he is top ten all-time... maybe top five.
