Never gets old.

I saw a doco on Billy Hayes a while back. That wasnt a once off attempt to traffic, but then the script is very different to his bio.
So sad that Brad died so young - such potential as an actor.
And holy hell I just realised that the guy who played Erich was the CEO of Madrigal in Breaking Bad.

Great movie on every rewatch.

Couldn't agree more. Seen it a million times. Still get goosebumps when he's in the airport John taping down the drugs. LOVE those horrible little boys of the prison guv'nor.

I was laughing at the fact that he said that, not so much that I agree since I have no idea who puts more "crap" out. One love.

Interesting that Billy finally went bck to Istanbul years later and apologised that the movie gave Turkey a really bad reputation. I remember the first time I saw this thinking I would never go there as a result. Years later I completely forgot and went there for my honeymoon. Amazing place, but I'm not so stupid I think I can subsidise my holiday by trafficking drugs.

Oh and the father and his two spoilt lil turds. Horrid.

I think Turkey gave Turkey a bad rap. My husband loved Istanbul, but he said there were millions of stray cats. I would not like that one bit.

One of the best guilty pleasure comedy/horror.

Land and Freedom - 6/10

Most of this Fritz Lang noir was decent, although very much by the numbers. The story was sometimes Hitchcockian and the atmosphere was strong. It features two of my favorite 40's actors in Edward G. Robinson and Dan Duryea. The big problem was the ending, one of the worst cop-out endings I've seen that had me swearing at the screen.

OK, I guess that won't be my nom for the 40s Hof part 2 I had been thinking about choosing it too, just so we could see Dan Duryea in another Hof.

I owe it to one of your previous noms that I discovered those two guys.

Yup Scarlet Street was my nom in a Film Noir Hof.

Bad Words. Jason Bateman is a foul mouthed 40 year old slacker who has his own reasons for using a loophole to become an entrant in a national Spelling Bee in this very funny film that has got to be one of the few decent comedies of the 2010s. Enjoyed this just as much second time, really funny but with a bit of heart too. Very enjoyable.

Both ... wife had to pause it briefly for a nature break which coincided with the two of you posting perfectly
