Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Fantastic poster. Thanks. It's almost too good.

Not really liking what I saw from that trailer. Generic blockbuster cuts, dutch angles, refusing to give any kind of a basic idea of the story, Oscar Issac shaved the best beard in film, no Luke, etc.
I loved it, but maybe I was expecting for half a year too much. Maybe they deliberately made it so we wouldn't expect that much of the movie itself, so ultimately it doesn't disappoint.

I found these cool pics that are probably here already, but I'm doing the best I can.

PREDICTION...(and a long shot spoiler). This is just my prediction, but Im sure kylo ren is going to be one of han/leah siblings and so is the main girl rey. I believe finn is just a warrior and picks up a light saber to fight kylo but he is no jedi, it will turn out to be rey and luke will be in the end to help (and probs die) rey who will become the jedi master against her brother. but thats just my opinion.

As has already been mentioned, I also believe that the arc of the story is basically a rehash of the original trilogy, which I find disappointing. Kylo Ren with his Dollar Store Darth Vader helmet and these updated stormtroopers everywhere is just too familiar. Disney should've swung off of its own bat, but since they own the rights to everything, they have to make sure they use it. I do like the idea of focusing on the new cast, but having Han Solo as the "dug-up, old fossil" in this outing might not be as fun to watch, as I initially expected. I know it's corny and cliché, but just have him & Leia maybe come in and save their kids, last minute, like how Han did in A New Hope, for Luke ... show these kids how it's done. A cameo kind of thing like that would be a nice payoff. But having grandpa Han there the whole time, where he's likely expected to brandish his blaster a lot and boring younglings with old stories about his glory days ... it could come off badly. "I have a bad feeling about this ..."

It is understandable though that the big 3 from the original trilogy have a part to play, I mean Luke by now should be the Jedi Master and obviously that entails a big part in the story, at least to begin with, he must be taking the mantle of Obi Wan/Yoda with the new Jedi.

Leia and Han we all assumed would be together following ROTJ with both taking leadership roles in whatever became of the Rebel Alliance or possible New Republic so again both have a part to play.

You could say a baton has to be passed on between old and new cast, at least to begin with. You assume that in the end it will be the new cast triumphing over Evil.

I'm not old, you're just 12.
I don't really follow the spoilers much, because I want to be surprised when I see the film, but I can't help but speculate...

I'm not sure who Kylo Ren actually is, but maybe Luke trained him and he went to the dark side because Luke has always sort of danced on that line, hasn't he? His actions in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, up until he refused to kill his father, definitely speak to him being full of anger. He could be in self imposed exile, having done more damage to the world than good, in his estimation. Would explain how he's considered a myth in the trailer. So possibly the girl and the former stormtrooper might be his redemption? What I find interesting is that if you think about it, this story could well be the opposite of the original trilogy. We have the rebels who are now in power, having wiped out the Empire, and we have the folks who were loyal to the Empire now fighting to regain their way of life much like the rebels did in the previous films. I think that the film will be a lot about the repercussions of the end of the Empire. I'm just wishing we could get a cameo from Lando. Maybe he and Han could throw back a Colt .45 just one more time before Captain Solo gets unceremonially shuffled off this mortal coil (well, if the rumors are true).

I think Leia is the masked man. And Luke. I think they're secretly playing the same guy. And Kylo Ren is Chewie's love child he had with an Ewok.
I mean, have you seen Adam Driver's ears?

Luke is obviously Kylo Ren. Most obvious thing in the world of obviousness. End of debate.
Well, apparently it's Adam Driver. We've seen him unmasked, right?

Unless -- CRAZY SPECULATION -- Luke IS Kylo Ren/the masked man -- but he uses Kylo Ren/Adam Driver as a false identity. Understand what I'm saying? Let's say this guy makes appearances unmasked. What if Luke is this new masked villain, and we're being tricked into thinking he's Adam Driver, but that's only because Luke makes everybody think the masked villain is Kylo Ren/Adam Driver, when it's really Luke. That could be a twist. That Adam Driver is simply a stand-in for Luke, to hide his secret identity, to keep people from knowing he's turned to the Dark Side.

I doubt it but it's something that crossed my mind.

Luke being under the mask is both not impossible and the worst possible direction they could take the franchise. Making a childhood hero evil and rehashing the original trilogy at the same time.

Mark Hamill actually tried to talk George Lucas into making his character turn evil in Return of the Jedi. They said no though, but he really wanted to do it. Maybe he got his say with this one. And he did look scary with that beard in the promo pictures. True evil!

I doubt Disney wants Luke Skywalker to turn evil.

Besides, I think from that first teaser trailer... where Luke's voice-over talks about The Force being strong in his family... I think that's a sign that Luke is still good.

Luke is just in hiding.

Maybe it's because I am not a big Star Wars guy but the new trailer was 'meh' to me. I'll probably check the movie out at some point.

I don't know anything about Star Wars after the original trilogy. I've never even seen any of the trailers for the newer ones until this one. It looks awesome.
