96 out of 97

CODA is my only missing winner.

Seen 58.

Been doing especially good with the most recent time winners. CODA is the one in recent time I’m still missing or else I have clean sweep going decades back.

I should probably cross some more off soon

My pants ran off with an antelope.
I've seen all but five of them; Shape of Water, Nomadland, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Oppenheimer, and Anora.

The trick is not minding
83/98. Good for about 86%

I’m mostly spotty in the 30’s.

I also have Tom Jones, The Sound of Music, and Around the World in 80 Days all currently saved to watch so that’ll be a few more knocked off.

Aside from this year, where I have 5 to go. All of them, as well as all of the extant nominees.

Of that lost film, The Patriot (1928) - I've only seen the trailer. I would like to get my eyes on the third (of the picture) UCLA is holding, and the single reel (out of 12), that was recovered in Portugal. It would be cool if a program could be put together, discussing the contents of the picture, and showing ALL of the surviving footage, if only in the name of film study. You'd at least be able to have some feel for it, a taste of the story, direction and performances. (Well, that aspect is pretty broad by the trailer)

Course, if someone would hurry and invent a time machine, I'd just go watch it in a theater.

and if you watch the trailer, yes, that's the future Commissioner Gordon, Neil Hamilton

Where are you getting 98 from? Assuming it's in reference to Sunrise, it actually won the Oscar for Best Unique and Artistic Picture, which was eliminated the following year.

Anyways, I've seen 75/97, or 76/98, if we're counting Sunrise. No specific interest in the Academy on my end, but I'll probably binge the remaining Best Picture winners at some point. I have little interest in a couple of them though (Driving Miss Daisy, Crash).

Anora makes 98.
Edit: oh wait, this is 97. Hmmm.

I've seen 92 out of 97

Have yet to see:

Tom Jones
Patton (yes I'm ashamed, as Franklin Schaffner is one of my favorite directors)
Spotlight
CODA
Anora

A few (Titanic, The Greatest Show on Earth, Crash) were particularly painful viewings...

Anora makes 98.

I think Sunrise is sometimes viewed as an unofficial Best Picture winner since the aforementioned category it won the award for was eliminated the following year, thus making it the only film which won that Oscar.

That’s probably where I made my mistake as well
