Beware The Probe!
Reading back a few posts here, I'm glad they seem to be staying away from Hippie Thor and the Ultimate route. I hate the Ultimate Universe and have never followed it for long.
Marvel really seemed to go out of their way to screw up the Ultimate Universe since it's inception.
It was like they needed it to have the freedom to do whatever they wanted with the characters by ruining some of them and killing off whoever they wanted and call it "more real".
I liked the fact that this Hulk's rampages of destruction did actually cause the deaths of thousands of innocent people over the years but I mean seriously, the Hulk eats people?

I enjoyed Ultimate Spidey and the younger version of Ultimate Fantastic Four most as far as characters went.
I did like some of the Ultimate costumes better though.
Especially Cap's.

As for the movies using the Ultimate version of Nick Fury over the original look of the character, I was joking with somebody else recently who complained about this and my idea was since in one Avengers comic, the white Nick Fury once disguised himself as a Sam Jackson looking guy. In the movie they should have Jackson's Fury do the same disguise idea and have Hasselhoff reprise his version of the character and do a cameo as the white Fury.

First Look At Captain America’s Costume

According to the JoBlo, director Joe Johnston recently talked with the LA Times about Cap’s outfit revealing there will actually be two Captain America costumes – one designed by the Army for his stint in the USO and the one he wears while on active duty as Captain America.

JoBlo’s description is of the latter describing the torso and head:

“The first thing I noticed is that the trademark wings that flank the side of Cap’s hood are gone. In fact the “hood” is gone entirely. In its place is a more traditional M1 Army helmet though this helmet does come over the eyes to give Cap a traditional “domino mask” look. Still present is the white “A” in the middle of the hat (nothing fancy, this is the traditional font), though like the rest of the costume, the blue of the helmet is much more muted than the blue in the comic costume. A thick black strap comes down over the ears and connects under the chin.

Cap is wearing a blue neck piece but from what I saw, it’s hard to tell if this is connected to something under the helmet or whether it’s something like a turtleneck (I’m gonna guess the latter).

On his chest still lies the white star though it’s not as prominent as the comic version. The costume is still split horizontally through the middle with blue on top and red and white stripes on the bottom. But instead of stripes, it’s actually just a white base with two red utility straps acting as stripes. These straps affix to a metal loop at the midpoint of the chest and a black strap extends up to the shoulders from that point.

His shoulders have pads over them that extend down to about mid-bicep and are attached via a brown strap under the arm. The sleeves (for lack of a better word) are white with a fairly standard brown glove.”
You can read the rest of the description, including pants and shield, at JoBlo – HERE.

AICN has shared some art of Cap’s movie costume, which has been confirmed by JoBlo as the costume they were describing above. The images were submitted by AICN reader “Broly’s Legend”. If this is truly the costume we’re getting in the movie, we (at least most of us) can breath a little easier:

Why not add the wings on the side of the mask... I don't think it would look all that bad with it.

The Albert Pyun's Captain America movie had a nice costume..., Matt Sallinger was a pretty decent Cap.
I have to admit I found that movie very entertaining..

Has anyone seen some kind of fan made teaser trailer floating around the intrawebs based on this flick? My buddy at work swears up and down he saw a trailer out for this already. But, they haven't even started shooting this pig yet, have they?

Oh, and I think that costume blows.

They're filming Captain America in London starting next month. Whatever your buddy saw it was probably fake. As for the Fan-Made trailer you're speaking of, is this the one you're talking about??

Love that concept art of the costume! I'd rather have a helmet but the body is perfect.

I dont know how they are going to pull this off in a realistic setting.

I mean, for a supersoldier, you would think the army might know a lil bout cammo. Unless Cappy is doing re-con at the Willy wonka factory, he;s not gonna blend in so well.

jus sayen

There are at least four Captain America trailers out there. This is the best of a mediocre bunch. CA doesn't seem to stir up fans to do their best, unlike the clever Green Lantern fake trailer.

Here is a genuine Captain America trailer:

I can't wait to see this movie. I wonder who would play captain america.

I'm not a huge comic guy, so this may be a stupid comment/question.

One of the sort of funny things is that in the Marvel universe, several characters occupy the same territory and time space.

New York City for instance is home to Spiderman, Daredevil and the Fantastic 4, with the X-men just down the road a stretch.

Now I understand that Marvel sold liscencing right to various studios for various projects, but would think, when the agreements expire, marvel would hang on to the property, to have the freedom for cross branding ala the avengers.

My question is, in the Comics, Did the FF ever intertwine with the Avengers, and they chose to make a movie of it down the line.(lets face it, hollywood is gonna crank out these suckers till the cashcow jumps the shark)

With Chris Evans being the "face" of both Johnny Storm and Cappy, which character do you think would be recast?

Just to clarify, Spiderman, Daredevil. and FF, were never members of the Avengers, so it doesn't create continuity problems for them not being in the Avengers movie.

The Hulk was very briefly a member at the start.

Thor was a member a litlle longer.

Captain America was a much longer member.

Tony Stark bankrolled their operations.

Both Spider-Man and Ben Grimm (The Thing, of the Fantastic Four) were members of the Avengers at one time or another.

I still don't think that creates continuity issues, though. They can do what they want. In the current Marvel "movie" universe, Gwen Stacy is alive, for chrissakes.
