DOA was actually the most entertaining movie of the summer. The Weinsteins Co. basically dumped it (after sitting on the shelf) so it had no chance of success because no one knew it was coming out...

"Cry_Wolf" and "Swimfan" tried cashing in on using Instant Messenger and Emails in the horror/suspense rather than phone calls.
"Cruel World" and a few other horror movies tried to use TV reality...
