I'm done with part 3 of War and Peace. I'm almost done watching the longest film I've ever seen.
Recommend Me Some Movies from the 1960s
For those in the UK Cimarron is on BBC2 later today (Sunday) at 13:05.

I don't think I saw anyone recommend Playtime. Does Jacques Tati get no love on this site? Playtime is one of the great achievements in film making, a strange, funny, and absurd masterpiece.

I've been trying to think of movies that you might like, Miss Vicky. You may want to give What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte a try. The latter especially is a favorite of mine.

I don't know that this one is so much for Miss Vicky, but I will use this thread to pimp a 60s movie out to everyone:
Baron Prásil
It's animated with live-action bits, and tons of beautiful colors. It's also a whole lot of fun.

Yup, I think there's a big chance you'll love Once upon a Time in the West, Miss Vicky, but you just have to get past the first hour (I personally love it, but I know many people think the beginning is a bit slow).

I have promised myself to get through Once Upon A Time In The West before the 60's list. I have started it three times since it showed up streaming on Netflix. I love The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly so I am not afraid of a slow moving western. I just have to be in the right frame of mind I guess.

Once Upon A Time In The West has one of the best opening scenes around. Gotta love Fonda in this one.

I've watched two movies for the 60s countdown so far - Midnight Cowboy and Persona - and both are contenders for my ballot.
The first hour of Once Upon a Time in the West has two of the greatest openings of all time
