From the idol scene, Indy running away from the natives, the Ark of the Covenant being opened, and especially the scene where faced with a swordsmen of considerable skill and flair, Indy brushes him off by shooting him all nonchalantly.

I understand that some people hate Kate Capshaw's character, but I find her to be a sarcastic match for Indy, and this second film seems more attuned to the horror comic films (aka graphic novels) which recently seem to be flooding the movie marketplace.
Thief
From the iconic opening with the booby-trapped temple and the rolling ball in Peru to the underground hunt in Egypt, Spielberg creates numerous memorable setpieces that set the template for future adventure films.
