No. Just no. This film is one of the biggest teases I think I've ever seen. There is so much here that's so good, the four lead performances of McLachlan, Dern, Rossellini and the pretty terrifying Hopper are all completely on point.

The film's political and social satire also seems to get jettisoned the longer it goes on and tries to just make people feel uncomfortable for the hell of it.
For better or worse, his films push boundaries, challenge the viewer, and leave us feeling completely shell-shocked a lot of the time.
