He knows that the film isn't just any other comedy; he knows that Dustin Hoffman's character and the inner conflicts should be the focus.

Robinson sharing their silent hotel bed, intercut with Ben at home in his own bedroom and floating in his swimming pool, still retains the pristine power which exemplifies why film lovers love film.

The film shows Ben (Dustin Hoffman) as being adrift in life and questioning the established order of things.
