Movies With Someone Being Interviewed?

I don't mean someone trying to get a job... Someone who's interviewed, mostly likely for being famous, but it could have been a reporter who finds a witness who witnessed something.

"La Dolce Vita" is one.. The foreign press asks this international actress questions about Italy, movies, etc..

"Frost/Nixon" is another.. I preferred the actual interview, and didn't think the actor did a good job of playing Nixon.

Frost/Nixon

Someone is going to have to say Interview with the Vampire

Citizen Kane had several character interviews in the pursuit of what Kane was really like: Jedediah Leland, Mr. Bernstein, etc. They set up all the flashbacks.

Le Petit Soldat

...
Just watched The Bikeriders (2024). Haven't reviewed it yet. It's a watchable film, with a powerful portrayal by Tom Hardy.

Much of the picture is told via interview, either live or voice over. The interviewer was based on the guy in real life.

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

Surprised no one has said Magnolia (1999)... it's brutal. And I don't know if it qualifies as an interview... it's a trial and interrogation and torture... but The Passion of Joan of Arc.

Oh and the thing about a turtle...

"You're walking in the desert and see a turtle laying on its back..."

Tom Cruise's part? There was a little, but also a lot of his seminars and going over to his father's.
Yeah, I don't know if the interview would have maybe taken a total of 15-20 minutes of screen time over the course of the 3 hour long film, but it's great and absolutely devastating and because it's a forward progressing ensemble piece the film cuts back and forth between multiple storylines. The interview scene is great because he begins with his showboat flamboyant and performative guru character he's invented and wants to stick with that, while the interview, did her homework and slowly reveals that she knows he's a fraud, but does so in as delicate manner as she can while still getting at the truth. And Tom Cruise puts on a masterclass of acting as his barriers and defenses break down one by one. It's a powerful part of a great film.

It's a pretty special movie, because it was one of about 5 movies I saw that came out within a year of its release that I actually liked. But somehow, I put the 2nd VHS tape in first.. A few months later, I went to this girl's apartment (who loved the same movies) because she knew about my mistake, and proceeded to watch it properly.
