I've seen three out of four of this last set. A Beautiful Mind is very good. I didn't love Argo, but maybe I'll like it more on rewatch. I was actually hoping that Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave would be nominated. Moonlight looks interesting and I've been kind of wanting to revisit 12 Years anyway.

Great movies as expected. Two I haven't seen, Mutiny and King's Men. Nothing else I don't like, some more than others obviously. The 3 70's flicks are a cut above for me.

Those are our 13. Feel free to guess who nominated what and all that Jazz.

Mutiny on the Bounty is something I've needed to see for a long time. Glad it was nominated.

I really disliked All the King's Men, but I will rewatch it.

On the Waterfront is a personal favorite of mine.

The Godfather is extremely overrated to me at least when I watched. But I'll need to see it again.

Cuckoo's is a great film and I haven't seen it in awhile.

I like but do not love the first Rocky.

Silence of the Lambs, what more can I say than it's fantastic.

Forrest Gump is another personal favorite that I love watching.

Gladiator is another than is a top 50 movie for me.

Hey, what do you know, so is Beautiful Mind

I didn't like Argo much first watch but I have wanted to watch again actually.

12 Years a Slave and Moonlight are two films I've avoided but now that's not going to be the case.

Happy to rewatch All the Kings Men, Godfather, Silence of the Lambs, On the Waterfront, and Argo

ready to give Mutiny on the Bounty, Gladiator, 12 Years a Slave and Rocky another look

And pretty ticked off about A Beautiful Mind, Forrest Gump, and Moonlight

I was too busy to join this. Shame cause it looks like quite a good HOF. I've seen 5 of the nominated films.

The Godfather
Rocky
Silence of the Lambs
Gladiator
Moonlight

I quite like all of them. I might also end up watching On the Waterfront, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and 12 Years a Slave cause they're all significant films I haven't seen. I might also end up watching Argo cause I've had it on DVD for a while but for whatever reason I haven't gotten around to seeing it yet.

Thursday Next's Avatar
I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
That ended up being a lot more movies than I thought it was going to be...Anyway...

Have seen:

All the King's Men. - Great movie, thought about nominating this myself.

On the Waterfront - Hasn't this been nominated twice before in halls of fame??

The Godfather - Great movie, been ages since I watched it though.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Been even longer since I watched this.

Rocky. - You say Rocky and there is a montage of training montages in my head.

Silence of the Lambs - Haven't seen this for a while either, I remember the performances but not so much about the plot.

Forrest Gump - Seen this lots of times.

Gladiator - Glad this was picked, think I'll enjoy rewatching it.

Argo - I remember quite enjoying the experience of watching this then never thinking about it again.

12 Years a Slave - Part of me wants to never see this again, part of me thinks it deserves another watch.

Not seen:

A Beautiful Mind - I had this checked off on my lists for some reason but I don't think I've actually ever watched it.

Mutiny on the Bounty - Never seen it.

Moonlight - Never seen it.

My short list was
(1) The movie I picked
(2) Going my Way
(3) Unforgiven
(4) All The Kings Men
(5) Sunrise

TCM is airing On the Waterfront, Mutiny on the Bounty, All the Kings Men

Woohoo! those are some of the best Hof movies I've seen nominated Very happy to see ALL of them on the list.

My thoughts:

Mutiny on the Bounty...it's been a long time since I seen this, but I remember Charles Laughton and Clark Gable were strong in this.

All the King's Men....Very glad to see this, as I've never seen it, but it sounds great. It's a political drama-noir with John Ireland who's one helluva an actor. Seems like a Sean nom.

On the Waterfront...Damn good film, Brando is great in this and Elia Kazan is one of my favorite directors....hmm not sure who.

The Godfather
...Not happy this was nomiated as my MoFo claim to fame was that I hadn't ever seen this, so now I'll have to watch it. I'm sure it's a great film...

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...This was almost my nom for the 14th Hof. I haven't seen in it 30 years so, really looking forward to it.

Rocky... I haven't seen this in ages either, I loved it, so good nom.

Silence of the Lambs
...I've avoided this as I hate intense thrillers and graphic horror, hopefully it's more subdued than I image.

Forrest Gump...Cool! this film doesn't get the respect it deserves. I seen it once when it came out, so looking forward to it.

Gladiator...I loved this film when I seen it at the theater and that was the one and only viewing, so happy it's here.

Beautiful Mind....I've seen it, don't remember much but glad to rewatch it. It seems like my kind of movie.

Argo...Seen this recently so I'm not going to rewatch it as I remember well, in fact I write a review for it.

12 Years a Slave...Same as Argo, I seen this fairly recently, thought it was very powerful and well done and reviewed it, so I don't think I'll rewatch it.

Moonlight
...I wasn't too interested in this one, especially after La La Land lost to it which soured the movie for me, but...I will watch it with an open mind.

Just putting this here for my reference.

.
It was nominated in the 2nd Hof and 4th Hof.

I thought it might have been in a more recent Hof but that's probably because it was one of the Elia Kazan films in Raul's and Sean's Director Dissection thread.
