Thanks Cricket, surprised there a few you haven't seen. Schindler's List especially surprises me, any special reason you haven't gotten to it yet?

Amelie is amazing. Nashville is great. And Miss Vicky is wrong.

Thanks Mark. I hit some of your 4 and 4.5 stars, very cool. Don't think I knew you were such a big Fellowship fan. Do you rate the other two that high?

2022 Mofo Fantasy Football Champ
We have 15 Top 100 in common so far. A few others like The Fighter, Autumn Sonata, and Aladdin that would be very close for me. I'll rate them soon hopefully.

An extremely impressive list so far!

One of the best examples of my two favorite elements of film, dialogue and characters. This movie explores many themes. Plight of middle America, growing up, fidelity and its virtues and struggle. It is all done with great humor, emotion, and characters that are easy to relate to. I love this film, always have. Yet to try the popcorn trick though, maybe someday.

49

My second favorite straight comedy. This has started a long line of what I consider mostly bad comedies. This one felt so fresh and never ceases to make me laugh. I love Carell, but this was even before I knew that. Rogen and Rudd are great and perhaps dialed down a bit from what they will become in future comedies. I love it, the rare comedy that really holds up for me.

48

There are quite a few movies on my list that were very popular when they were released and have seemed to sour in everyone's mind but mine. This is one of the best examples of that. I think people now consider the acting over the top and the story pretty corny. Perhaps they are right but it still works for me and when a movie works for you the over the top acting becomes great performances, and the corny story becomes emotionally engaging. Again, I just think the dialogue here is fantastic and the film is full of great characters.
