Wouldn't the twist in Empire Strikes Back been so much better if everyone didn't tell me it before I watched the damn movie!
It's so ubiquitous though how could anyone not know (even assuming they'd somehow missed seeing the movie) unless they live in a cave?

Yeah, that's kind of the point of this thread.

Silver Linings Playbook is a poor excuse for a conventional rom-com wrapped up in quasi-independent filmmaking style so as to disguise its trite plot, mediocre characterisation and general badness, which is a shame because the source book is apparently supposed to be satirising the exact kind of terrible romances that the film version ends up embodying perfectly.
