The 9th Browning Film Awards (2008 films) (Don't kill me.)

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
The "Don't kill me." bit is for those who say I'm a one-trick pony. I have been asked to continue by those outside of this site, and I refuse to exclude you guys.

Anyways, rules are simple: Choose your favorite from each category (or as much as you can manage, though try and aim for six minimum if possible). Don't mock others. Don't mock this (I actually do work hard to bring the committee together to get these set up each time, even if I disapprove of their choices at times). You gave visual effects to The Dark Knight over Hellboy II, Miss Vicky?

You gave visual effects to The Dark Knight over Hellboy II, Miss Vicky?

I've only seen three of the films in that category and I certainly wasn't going to give my vote to Iron Man or ******* Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
To Miss Vicky: I was honestly shocked that Penn didn't make it, but gotta work with what I'm given. Also, I can understand not choosing Indy 4. I think the missing shocker of that category is Curious Case. And thank you for voting!

To Swan: So...should I count that as your vote for Visual Effects?

To everyone: Please tell me I'm not the only one that is somewhat disappointed that Waltz with Bashir didn't get a nomination in Animated Film. (Granted, it's not my #1 choice overall, but I think it most certainly deserved a spot!)

I actually just watched Waltz With Bashir for the first time today and thought it was phenomenal. It's at least a thousand times better than Horton Hears a Who!, Kung Fu Panda, and The Tale of Despereaux, all of which I thought were shining examples of mediocrity and emptiness.

On the subject of animation, don't forget to do some voting of your own, Browning. Compile a ranked list of your top 25 animated features and shorts and PM them to me. Rules and Guidelines can be found in this thread The MoFo Top Animated Films List - Voting

I'll get right on that later today. I would do it now, but I don't know how much time I have online this moment, seeing as I have malware and possibly viruses out the butt! But I will jump onto that as soon as I can!

Alright, I'll get to adding it!

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
Alright, one week remains, and there have been a total of voters. Don't make me start having to hunt people down! I'd rather you came here of your own free will!

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
Depending on how you look at it, there are 3 or 4 days left to vote, and there haven't been as many voters all-around as I had anticipated. If you have not voted, I implore you to do so, because in the last awards, you guys had the majority, and the results were more glorious than the two before it! I want to see that happen again! Share some awesomeness here, please!

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
The broken record's back, but only once more with this message. Today's the last day; roughly 15 hours left. If you haven't voted but would like to, now is the time!

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
Alright, just letting everyone know that the voting period is over for this one, I'll post the results on Tuesday afternoon (well, my Tuesday afternoon, anyway).

And I'm also letting you know when I've planned the next few awards to be. With a few holidays coming in, they're going to be more spread-out. Anywho, here's the planned schedule (it may change, depending on inclement weather and all):

2009 TBFA - Sept. 30
2010 TBFA - Oct. 28
2011 TBFA - Nov. 25
2012 TBFA - Jan. 6
2013 TBFA - Jan. 27
2014 and onward - 2nd or 3rd Tues. of June of the following year
