My older brother is obsessed with Pink Floyd. I think Shine On You Crazy Diamond (pt.1) is probably their best song.

Bike? Really?

That's a good enough reason. I love music that reminds me of the past.

Fun fact: My username comes from "If".
Cool!! I like the song and have heard it lots of times but I didn't really associate your username with it. I just thought you were a big fan of birds or something

The thing isolated becomes incomprehensible

I missed Fleetwood Mac this year, as I went and saw Roger Hodgson (Supertramp). What early stuff do you like, Vicky?

As much as I love Rumors and Buckingham-Nicks, my favorite members are Peter Green, most underrated guitarists/singers, and Danny Kirwan... I never cared for any Jeremy Spencer 3-chord bluesy shuffles..

Really love Bob Welch's voice.. Future Games, good stuff.

Clapton gets an honorable mention, I love Cream, every band he was in... Cat Stevens just missed the list.

Do you mean the John Stewart who did "Gold" - I'm guessing it must be, as Stevie Nicks sings along.. Also sounds like Lindsey fingerpickin the electric.

I've seen Roger three times. Saw Dark Side in Chicago and Canada, and The Wall in Detroit.... Gilmour is going to tour soon, and has an album coming. Roger will release his one day...

It's now or never - the greats are dead, dying, or retiring..

I love music as well and it's a huge part of my life. I even took bellydance lessons growing up because of how much I love the music. But I feel like there are so many great genres and artists out there, I don't even know where to start. I feel like there's no way I'd be able to pick favourites. I don't even know what my favourite genre is.

I haven't heard Future Games in ages. I have it on vinyl, but I haven't had a working record player in years and haven't gotten round to getting it on CD or downloading it. I like Bob Welch a lot (and nominated his solo song Ebony Eyes in the current song tournament). My favorite pre-Buckingham Nicks album is 1972's Bare Trees. Beyond that I'm not really that familiar with their early albums (though I have many on CD) but rather am more familiar with songs like Green Manalishi, Albatross, and Spare Me A Little Of Your Love.

I missed them in concert this year as well, but more because I simply couldn't justify the expense, especially since they weren't touring in support of a new album. I saw them three times on their Say You Will tour and have seen Lindsey Buckingham solo five times. I'm still kicking myself for passing on his One Man Show tour though.

Yes, that John Stewart. He was a member of The Kingston Trio, who were a huge influence on Lindsey Buckingham's guitar style.

I also excluded classical... I love Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Chopin, Schubert - any classical music that's dark, melancholic -- any suggestions?
