I really disliked the main actress so that didn't helped.

How can you dislike Anna Karina? She's gorgeous.

One doesn't simply get bored with Monica Vitti on the screen.

Thundercrack! (1975) -

"And what about the godd@mn bananas? I have a crate of bananas!"

TokeZa, you kinky bastard! Ironically, this half-porno flick is the best movie in this set. It tells a very loose story of a mad woman and a bunch of 70's-lookin' people staying at her place. This movie screams 70's - just look at these manly men - moustache and chest chair. Now that's kinky! I was impressed with Marion Eaton's performance. Great acting! As I mentioned, there's a lot of porn thrown in, so expect girls sucking off guys, casual sex, gay butt sex, cucumber masturbation, people getting raped and killed by sexually frustrated gorilla and.. okay, I guess this is too much already.
Im glad you liked it

My roommate who is also in to sleazy stuff, suggests that you watch this 1973 sleaze pearl next

I will watch it, but the perspective of me watching 70's porn instead of classics I still haven't seen is hilarious.

Before man was, war waited for him.

Classic 70s porn is still 70s classics.

I don't dislike Anna Karina, I disliked her role in this film, it was to melodramatic and her character was a little stupid. Maybe it's not her fault, but she kind of annoyed me.

As for L'avventura, yes she's gorgeous, but it doesn't make a film good. I don't care for this kind of melodramatic love story. I admit that the scene on the rock where they search Anna was really well made and I enjoyed it. After that, although it's beautifully shot, I don't see the point of the film. To critic the ''bourgeois'' attitude in Italy? I don't know I found it a little pretentious and empty. Beautiful actress and cinematography doesn't make a film good for me, it help, but it need something else. (Maybe I didn't get the movie I don't have the pretention to say that a true movie classic is ****, but just that after my 1st viewing it was blend)

Before man was, war waited for him.
Ernest & Celestine (2012; Aubier, Patar, Renner)
- sweet, pretty to look at, lacking subtlety. A Town Called Panic is much better, but Ernest et Celestine is still worthy of your time.

Tale of Tales (1979; Yuriy Norshteyn)
- a beautiful dream

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974; Tobe Hooper)
- I liked it the first time I saw it, but this time I loved it.

Apocalypse Now (1979; Francis For Coppola)

Vinni-Pukh (1969; Fyodor Khitruk)
- Pooh is pretty dumb in this one, but it provides some funny moments.

Holy Motors (2012; Leos Carax)
- I like movies that don't care about "making sense."

Tokyo Zombie (2005; Sakichi Sato)
- a mixed bag of funny, unfunny, stupid, and poor effects. The low budget effects did provide for some (intentional I think) funny moments. Not anything to write home about though.

The Master (2012; Paul Thomas Anderson)

True Detective: Season 1 -
- I can't think of anything I disliked about the show to this point.

Apocalypse Now, Holy Motors, The Master and True Detective are all great. Tales of Tales is too, one of the most beautiful animations I have seen after I watched it for a short film tournament that Mr Minio nominated it in, would be nice to get a short on the 70s list.

Crazy too high or crazy too low?
too high! Especially considering that Mark's 2.5 is like a 3.5 or 4 in normal people ratings :P

Vinni-Pukh (1969; Fyodor Khitruk) - Pooh is pretty dumb in this one, but it provides some funny moments.
it's better than the original one.I'm pretty sure Mr Minio could back me up on this.

mark f is perfectly normal. He just likes to use his trademark
. I hope it doesn't get copyrighted soon, because I still want to rate some films 2.5.
